posted my comment before i saw yours romeo......talking about twitter

No problem. I understand that sentiment by some people, but if JD and Nolan think he's worth it they have a track record suggesting I trust them. And to be honest 6yrs at 60m is very reasonable compared to what I thought it might take.

i think it is great, with only 10 per year we can hopefully sign most of the core and hopefully prince.

young will take a paycut(hopefully) next year and hopefully we get josh for a fair
deal

Young will have to take a big cut from 20m a year if he wants to stay with Texas. As for josh, I just hope he's reasonable. I want to keep him but don't want to give him a Crawford type deal to keep him. He has to realize his past will follow him throughout his career hindering his chances at a long term deal

The 52 million may not count toward salary or payroll, but no matter how you slice it it took 110 million to sign him so he better be good.

Jon Paul Morosi of FOX Sports tweets that the guarantee is not $60MM becuase an option is worked into the deal. The deal is worth just $56MM guaranteed, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram tweets. Wilson says the deal includes $4MM in bonuses with the potential to reach even more incentives by winning Cy Young Awards.

and by this logic we cant sign josh because we used his money to rebuild the centerfield area of the ballpark

Dude. Where the hell have you been?

Went home for Christmas for a few weeks, then ran into a bunch of bullshit when I came back and had to get a new place and had to wait for internet to be set up. Coulda used my phone but there wasn't much going on worth talking about. Didn't care about the Tebow nonsense or the Bama/LSU game so my sports interest has been low until the Rangers finally did something.

Glad to have you back. Things should be gearing up.

I really don't like Scott Boras. One of my least favorite people on the planet. Fielder wants to be in the American League. Texas is the only logical destination for him (although I won't be surprised if Seattle or Toronto sneak up and snag him), the market for him is light, but Boras wants the world. A power-hitting 1st baseman with limited range. Of course Boras thinks he's Lou Gehrig.
