i think if we land Fielder the Rangers put a package together and bring in a CF'er like Adam Jones or McCutheon and then adjust the lineup like this:

CF'er
Kinsler
Fielder
Beltre
Hamilton
Cruz
Napoli
Young
Andrus

Factor in everything they do, and Adam Jones was barely better than Gentry last year in significantly more playing time and no reason to trade, plus Adam Jones is not a very good defensive CFer, and he doesn't walk at all, sure he hits HRs, but HRs is not what we need out of the CFer

McCutcheon he factors right into what the Pirates are trying to do

I'm not crazy about Andrus leading off either, but I do like the upside of Gentry, especially his range and his speed. If there were a way to move Andrus down to the 8 or 9 spot, I'd do it.

this is from last year at this time:

On Thursday, the MLB Network ran a countdown of the top 10 center fielders in the game today. The criteria is who will be the best in the 2011 season. Andrew McCutchen was named the No. 1 center fielder in all of baseball

a good package would pry him from Pittsburgh

I'm perfectly content with Gentry being our primary cf this year. His defense is second to none and if he gets on the bases he is hellacious. If he'll just hit .250 and learn how to lay down a perfect bunt that's fine with me until Martin is ready to take over.

18-year-old Cuban lefty Gerardo Concepcion has established residency in Mexico, agent Jaime Torres told Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportesLosAngeles.com. He should be able to declare free agency and negotiate with Major League teams very soon. The Yankees, Rangers, Cubs, White Sox, and Phillies are among the interested clubs, Rojas tweets.

Looks like it's almost done boys! Man if we get Fielder my excitement for this year would firmly out shadow my disappointment from last season.

they could stick with Gentry & Martin in CF which would leave our BO, if we did sign Prince, with:

Kinsler
Andrus
Fielder
Beltre
Hamilton
Cruz
Napoli
Young
Gentry/Martin

and a bench of:

Moreland
Murphy
Torrelba

Here's hoping that a six year deal allows the funds to be spread out more to enable Texas to sign Fielder. Young and Feldmans contract comes off the books soon. That's almost 30 million annually right there.

Don't they have 15 million invested in a CF at RR? I must be missing something here, but why would the Rangers trade away a package for a CF when they have that much money invested in the position already?

if you're talking about Martin then they could move him to left if they let Hamilton walk
