For god's sake man he's a DH now and is called on every once in a while to play one of the onfield positions to give the regular player sometime off the field. and that might be extended if the player has an injury like with Beltre last year or if the player disappearance like Moreland did. MY will probably be the DH for at least 135 to 144 games next season so relax

Young's time at 1b was programmed last year and had nothing to do with Moreland's wrist injury ... which you seem to keep ignoring and saying things like Moreland "disappeared".

If he is just called on "one in awhile" in 2012 to play 1b or 3b that would be okay. He is no longer a middle infielder though ... and on those days that Andrus or Kinsler need off ... then that is what the UIF is for. Certainly not Young ... most certainly not for Andrus.

I don't think Adam Jones is that great, maybe I just havent' seen enough of him. I'll go check him out. Seems like that price is REALLY high for one guy that we hopefully really only need for one season.

Adam Jones doesn't walk and doesn't play good defense, I wouldn't trade Harrison alone for him

All he he has is power

Yeah, wouldn't make that trade. He is young, but looks like he is outgrowing CF. Range is trending down, errors are trending up, he is good for 20-30 HR's but also 120k's and a 4:1 K/BB rate.

I know Hunter and Davis are a sunk cost, but that would be basically giving up Hunter, Davis, Harrison, and Borbon for Jones.

I'd do that package for McCutcheon, but PIT likely wouldn't. I'd make the offer though. Bullpen and a two young guys. Sounds like their cup of tea.

okay "disappeared" is the wrong word. his production offensively & defensively went down after the wrist injury. and MY and Napoli time at 1st was programmed in but i think both's time there went up following the wrist injury.

will MY see 36 games at 1st this coming season? probably not but i expect he will see at least 25-30.

will Napoli see 35 games at 1st this coming season? probably not but i expect he will see the same 25-30.

that means Moreland will play at least 102-112 games at 1st.

MY covered 2B 14 times this last season. Blanco, German & Quintinilla covered it 12 times (starting 4). will MY see 14 games at 2B again? probably not

MY covered SS 1 time. Blanco & Qunitinilla covered SS 26 times (starting 19). will MY see SS again? probably

There's a "good chance" the Rangers will trade reliever Koji Uehara, sources tell T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com. On Tuesday we heard that Uehara vetoed an agreed-upon trade between the Rangers and Blue Jays, so it's not too surprising to hear that Texas is still shopping the right-hander. There are a number of teams interested in Uehara, according to Sullivan, and the Rangers "like what they are hearing" in terms of potential return.

No way. Wouldn't even give them Uehara for Jones.

Would have to be a superstar position player to justify providing a mid rotation SP, setup RP, and the replacement player for the guy being acquired.

That would be one of the worst trades on the part of the Rangers in baseball history.

he has resisted any attempts by Pittsburgh on a contract extension so they might listen to a good offer but why would Texas do that with Martin developing in the minors?

No idea. but if we are dead set on getting a CF'er, that would be the guy I would go after.

He could always be trade bait next year if Martin progresses like expected.

he is in the last year (2012) of his present contract so i wouldn't do the deal unless he signed an extension with us. however, i got blasted earlier for even suggesting his name as a possible target so i would hesitate to do anything here.

I don't think they're as concerned with getting a cf as we are.

But he has 4 years of arbitration still.
