Well I guess both of them having top-5 offenses showed they didn't deserve to be there and that it was so easy for the Broncos to beat them. They won the Super Bowl...you can try to justify that away but it doesn't change that they have 3 Lombardi's now in the building.
Denver beat the Steelers in the Playoffs no doubt but missing AB in that game hurt that top 5 offense quite a bit. Plus the Steelers passing D was not very good last year.

Good thing this is a new year and that passing D can only get better. Couldn't get much worse than 29th.

I can see players gambling half of their contract away already.
They could do that now if they really wanted too with Casinos being in many states not just NJ and NV. Not to mention online. So, being in Vegas would only make it slightly easier IMO.

Kind of amazing what's going on in Vegas right now...The MGM just finished their new arena, The Sands(Adelson)wants to build a stadium and attract an NFL team and Wynn announced they're looking to turn their golf course into a lake resort with beaches, water skiing, fireworks every night, boardwalks and other beach kinda things...

See this happens every year though of people arguing injuries. They are just part of the equation. Every team though has at least one major injury. For the Broncos they had 3rd string guys starting at both Tackle spots. Both of our safeties were pretty banged up as well and we didn't even know if they would play until a day before the game. So they were not 100%. Manning was still struggling with his injury and hadn't hardly taken any meaningful snaps for half a season.

Honestly when it comes to the playoffs it really does require some luck and some great timing of when the team really starts to come together. I was just listening the other day that the Pittsburgh loss in the regular season is when the coach sat the entire team down and gave an incredible speech. The team never lost another game. Just good timing for a really bad loss to really focus the team for the stretch run.

True, it would just seem to me that the temptation will skyrocket being out there. I could see coaches implementing more meetings just to discuss gambling.

Not everytime though is it the team abandoning the fans. Sometimes the fans make it very clear that they couldn't care less whether the team stays or goes.

true that

but I don't believe the Raiders fans in Oakland feel that way

Well they have voted down actually helping with any actual stadium costs and they have one of the lowest seating percentage in the league (number of fans at game compared to number of seats available). So while the Raiders used to be an iconic team with fans galore it just seems this 15 or so years without any kind of success have really cut down the fan base.

Is it only weight you lose? Hope you've had a few free vacations. I live in Vegas and avoid the strip like it's the plague.

Have gotten some great deals out there. I usually stay for a week/week and a half so I always find ways to either get discounts on that trip or the next one..

yes, most locals seem to avoid the strip. Some of my best times out there were actually off-strip. Some amazing restaurants and bars if you're willing to rent a car or pay the cab fare. I go with the cab, so drinking is possible...

Injuries, Yes. They are just a part of the game. I specially only brought up AB because his injury was a result of a blatant cheap shot and not from a normal football play. Those Bengal/Steeler interdivisional games this year could get real ugly.

Vegas is ruthless in extracting money.

Not only that, there are legions of golddiggers and scam artists running around.

Not a good idea for some naive urban or southern kid to get tangled up in.

Actually I'm in NY :suds: I always hear about Taco's El Gordo and the only reason I don't end up going? Supposedly the lines are really long and I'm not sure I'd have the patience when hungover from the night before lol.

My last trip was lots of off strip Asain restaurants...Raku, Chengdu Taste, Chada Street, and a few other good ones. I was also introduced to Ronald's Donuts by a local and DAMN are those good!!!

I was just going to say this same thing. I have a buddy that lived in Vegas for a few years and he said he avoided the strip like the plague too. I suspect most locals do the same.

Yes, the lines are long, I've walked out on a few occasions. Worse time to go is lunch, 10:30 - 12:30.

I avoid it myself as it's where I generally lose my money unless I'm playing in the WSOP.
