I did hear rumours that Toto was the fellow who insisted that the penalties be imposed as Ferrari could overhaul MB in the standings.

This governing body is really a flippin' dog and pony show. They are getting worse and I really believe the people in charge in Las Vegas are going to whiff on a repeat of this race next year, if they only signed a one-year deal. Don't know but alot of locals are just flat-out pissed by this event and it isn't getting any better.

I read something similar, Hank. Mario Andretti is right. F-1 governors have lost their collective minds!!

The locals don't want it downtown. They want it out wherever the fuck NASAR has a track.

And this late night BS for Euros? I think they are able to record races as easily as we can. I can't recall the last one I watched live anyway. And they do it for Japan as well, making them run at night in usually rain all for the Euros.

In the end though, does the USA really need 3 races?

Yep, the locals want it out of the downtown and up north on I-15 where there is plenty of tracks in the racing complex, (NASCAR oval, and NHRA dragstrip with side streets up there) plenty of parking space, and they wanted the race earlier on Sunday so that everyone is not staying up real late to watch the damn thing. Not to mention the parking and congestion downtown is a frikin' nightmare. Whoever put this together, shit-the-bed bigtime!

The Ferraris rebound and take the pole with Leclerc on top and Sainz second.

This whole thing has been a total shit show. But in regards to the bolded, they are trying to sell it as for Euro TV viewers, but the real reason is because Vegas wouldn't let them close the road at a more reasonable time for the track. This led to them not getting a full track certification (they wouldn't close it with enough time to fully check it) which led to the manhole cover which hit Carlos' backside so hard he lost feeling in his legs for a bit. Also, the reason they kicked the fans out for FP2, was because they didn't want the fans in the way while they do the work to re-open the road in the morning. All of which tells you where this all lands on the importance meter for the city. Low.

10 years of this crap.

I'll put you down as a player for this race. You will get points awarded. Care to add your choices for positions 2 through 4??

Leclerc
Verstappen
Sainz
Albon

Only because I'm so far behind I have zero chance anyway. So the leaders take off and the next group run over each other.... Sainz is way faster than everybody ahead of him but Leclerc. He'll get in the mix if he stays clean.

Did RB know Perez was getting a penalty or something & decided screw it lets save a set of tires or something? Their strategy in Q2 made no sense to me.

Everything was thrown at Verstappen, but he fought through and takes the win in Vegas. LeClerc comes in Second, Perez is Third and Ocon is Fourth!
