Sources: Lakers, Spurs reopen talks on Kawhi

I have a very bad feeling the Lakers are going to do something very stupid just to get Leonard by including several young players and 1st round picks.

They are going to make a Jim Buss move and gut the team just to chase a player ( one who may continue to have quad issues btw and can get next off-season without gutting the team )

First off, Kawhi is only 26. I seriously doubt the Lakers would be negotiating at all if they weren't confident that his quad will be fine and he'll be 100%.

Also, getting Kawhi virtually guarantees getting Lebron, which likely means also getting PG or another max FA next year.

That gives the Lakers the best player in the game, the 3rd best player in the game (4th depending on where you rank AD) and another top 15 player in the game.

Oh, by the way, all 3 are elite 2 way players.

They likely keep Lonzo and possibly Hart from the young core.

This team would be a nightmare for the Warriors because they could literally switch everything and keep an elite level defender on Steph, Klay and KD at all times.

If Short Buss was able to be stupid enough to pull that off...Jeanie wouldn't have had to kick him to the curb.

I wouldn't say "good". Really its not even news. It's basically just standard operating procedure. If they don't extend the qualifying offer, he becomes an unrestricted free agent. Extending the offer ensures LA will have some sort of control over him via restricted free agency whether they want to keep him or not. This keeps their options open to either resign him, sign and trade, or still let him walk.

Great post!!! Go for it! Kawhi is still young and if it gets us LBJ, I would sign up for it. I am tired of losing.

Shit's about to go down with PG opting out and Lakers and Spurs re-newing trade talks.

ESPN was talking about the possibility of Lebron and Kawhi coming to the Lakers and the Lakers keep Randle.

That wouldn't be as good as Lebron, Kawhi and PG. But it would be pretty close, imo.
