Not until the summer of 2018 anyway. This trade just stripped most of the advantage of re-signing with Pelicans away. Cousins will be firmly in play as a FA in 2018. He just lost $30M because of that trade.

Carmelo Anthony has also stated that if the Knicks are going to move him, he'll wave his no-trade clause if he goes to the Lakers or Clippers. I wouldn't want this ball-hog because our youngsters would suffer and probably end-up standing around watching again like when Kobe was still playing. Word is that the chances of the Knicks moving Anthony are not good. I don't want Butler either.

The Bulls want too much and just like in the DMC talks with Sacramento, the Lakers FO apparently isn't parting with Clarkson and Randle either.

From what I heard, it wasn't the Clarkson and Randle that killed the DMC deal, it was the Kings insisting that they include Ingram. Have you heard something different?

The Mozgof and Deng signings where atrocious. It handicaps the Lakers ability for a while. They need to hope for a good trade and a good draft. Otherwise they need to ship some of our young guys out for value before they demand bigger contracts. I also think this is the reason they did not trade Ingram in the Cousins deal, hes on a rookie contract for a while.

Looks as though Magic is looking for a GM. We shall see how this all transpires. One thing for sure. Short Buss and Kupchack are outta there. Probably means Lou Williams is gone but we shall have to wait on that.
