ESPN dissing the Lakers again. First they predict them to come 12th in the West, now they've voted Boozer as the 'worst newcomer'!

What kinds of idiots do they employ over there?

Simmons has tainted the ESPN water with his blatant Lakers haterism.

I don't know about 12th but the Boozer thing does have basis in reality. If he plays like he did for a good portion of last year (looking washed up), then yes, he'd definitely qualify as "worst newcomer". LA took a gamble on him because they have nothing to lose. He was cheap. If he's washed up, so what. If he just needed a change of scenery and get back to being a solid starter, then you hit the lottery.

I can see the worst newcomer argument if the Lakers signed him to a big contract. They didn't though. They got him on the cheap.

I didn't see the segment so I don't know if they were factoring contracts or not. I just assume they're talking basketball ability and that is a real concern with Boozer. It's not like they're just making stuff up for the hell of it.

The second tweet means The Glove will be on the staff?

The hiring of Eyen is awesome news. He's a well respected, experienced coach.

Another step in the right direction.

Kobe Bryant ($23,500,000)
Steve Nash ($9,701,000)
Jordan Hill ($9,000,000)
Jeremy Lin ($8,374,646)
Nick Young ($4,994,420)
Carlos Boozer ($3,251,000)
Julius Randle ($2,997,360)
Ryan Kelly ($1,650,000)
Xavier Henry ($1,082,000)
Ed Davis ($981,084)
Robert Sacre ($915,243)
Wesley Johnson ($915,243)
Jordan Clarkson ($507,336)

That's the updated roster with salaries. 13 guaranteed contracts and a total payroll of $67,869,332. Teams can carry 15 players. I believe they have a few training camp invitees already announced. They'll likely carry at least 14 players on the roster. I can see them keeping that 15th spot open for future maneuvers or maybe keep a non-guaranteed contract at the 15th spot so they can cut him if need be.

Looks like the Lakers have interest in Michael Beasley. He wasn't that fantastic as a small forward in Miami but since he is only 25 and Wes Johnson is the only true small forward we have on the roster, the Lakers are working him out and 7 others. The story is on Yahoo Sports which isn't the most reputable outlet.

Also, the Lakers worked out Toney Douglas, Dexter Pittman, Greg Stiemsma, Bobby Brown, Malcolm Lee, Daniel Orton and Ben Hansbrough. There is some interest in Stiemsma because he is a seven footer that blocks shots better than Sacre. We shall see.
