If Wesley Johnson can be consistent in that starting line up, he can be the X factor that we need. He has the tools.

I think it's possible that the Lakers are getting Lin at the right time and definitely for the right money.

The "Linsanity" hype is over. Houston signed him based on the "Linsanity" stuff and he ended up taking an unfair amount of the blame when the Rockets didn't meet expectations.

If he can be the offensive player that he's shown himself to be and at least play adequate team defense, he could end up being a steal.

I agree. I love his athleticism, but he was inconsistent and seemed to lack confidence last season. I'm glad the Lakers brought him back because there is definitely some potential there. However, if I'm the Lakers FO, he needs to show improvement in both areas or he doesn't get brought back for a 3rd chance.

Beasley and a true center would be great additions!

I would have no problem if the Lakers signed Beasley. I doubt he's ever going to be much better than an average defender (if that), but he could be a good addition for scoring off the bench.

Kobe Bryant ($23,500,000)
Steve Nash ($9,701,000)
Jordan Hill ($9,000,000)
Jeremy Lin ($8,374,646)
Nick Young ($4,994,420)
Carlos Boozer ($3,251,000)
Julius Randle ($2,997,360)
Ryan Kelly ($1,650,000)
Xavier Henry ($1,082,000)
Ed Davis ($981,084)
Robert Sacre ($915,243)
Wesley Johnson ($915,243)
Jordan Clarkson ($507,336)

That's the updated roster with salaries. 13 guaranteed contracts and a total payroll of $67,869,332. Teams can carry 15 players. I believe they have a few training camp invitees already announced. They'll likely carry at least 14 players on the roster. I can see them keeping that 15th spot open for future maneuvers or maybe keep a non-guaranteed contract at the 15th spot so they can cut him if need be.

Well said.

Signing Beasley violates the Knucklehead rule:

"You can have one knucklehead on a team. But if you have two, that just gives them someone to hang out with and get into trouble".

We have Nick Young. We don't need Beasley.

There's an opt-out clause to it that requires you to acquire Javele McGee. It's the 3-Stooges Clause:

"If a team signs two knuckleheads, Javele McGee must be acquried for comedic purposes of basketball fans everywhere"

The next guy the Lakers are going to sign, number 14, will be this guy: Greg Stiemsma. Comes cheap and is a seven-footer who can block shots and rebound better than Sacre. The last article I read, Scott stated he really likes him.

I like Sacre's spirit but he's a poor mans version of Mark Madsen - horrible on court but great on the bench!

The Lakers have their eye on another undrafted player who has been hanging around the league for three years and is going to work-out for the Lakers for a second time. Julyan Stone, a 6-6 combo guard out of Texas El-Paso. Here is the link.

Lakers To Workout Julyan Stone For Second Time This Week | Lakers Nation

This should be an insurance at the PG spot with Jeremy Lin being the only player reliable at that spot on paper for now, since we really don't know what to expect out of Nash or rookie Clarkson in his 1st season.
