I wonder with all the signings how much cap space is left.

The Lakers were sitting at $43,406,132 before the recent signings. That doesn't include Marshall's non-guaranteed salary. So with Hill & Young signed, & you account for Randle's rookie salary, they are sitting around $60 mil? Just a guess. Cap is set at $63 mil. That pretty much eliminates the Lakers from signing anyone to anything substantial, outside of a sign & trade.

Yea, they'll fill out the roster with the remainder and we will probably have a year this year like last.

Let him go. He should have been traded at All-star break this year.

Though it will hurt to see Gasol go, he just turned 34 and has a history of knee and foot troubles, so maybe avoiding giving him a multi-year extension will turn out to be a blessing in disguise.

Totally LALakersboy. It is time to say good-bye to the old guys. If they can find somebody to take Nash's contract or stretch to use him as a coach to school the youngsters, then we will be on our way with the rebuild strategy despite what Kobe thinks. I hope Gasol gets his ring in Chicago or San Antonio or wherever he ends up.

No one is going to take Nash's contract unless a 1st round pick comes with it. It would better to just let him play out the season & save the pick. Or they could release him & eat the money. You could stretch the cap hit evenly over 3 seasons.

Gasol and Nash for Boozer and a pick. Bulls would do it

I like that deal Hangman but I am not sure we can do a sign and trade with Gasol. It would be cool if that is the way things work out. Boozer and Sacre in the middle!! I am talking smashmouth basketball like the badboys from Detroit.

Why would the Bulls swap salaries & send a pick? Swapping dead money expiring salary for a dead money expiring salary makes zero sense. It defeats the purpose of trading an expiring salary if you are receiving one back.

They're working on some kind of a S&T

Yeah, just saw that the Lakers and Bulls are working on a S&T involving Pau. No details yet. I'd love it if it was for Gibson, but I'd bet that it involves Boozer and maybe a draft pick.

So if everyone is healthy, who starts for the Lakers at point guard?

If we can't afford Monroe, (and that looks like reality) than Boozer will be our next choice. I am sure it is going to be a sign and trade if we can do that and Gasol will be gone.

The starting point guard could be Lin or even Clarkson. Maybe Marshall at this juncture because they have in the summer league polishing his skills. Could even be Nash. It is totally undecided because we have yet to officially name a coach.

Nash when healthy. Lin otherwise I think. Marshall is at best a back up. Clarkson isn't ready yet.

I see Lin starting actually. Nash will get about 10-15 min MAX. Clarkson maybe 10 for now.

I don't mind Lin starting, not horrible. I really would rather waive Nash, frees up some $$
