League is trying to hit the backstop. Up to Fedex to save this one from disaster.

Just one of several games that Donnie has lost single handedly.

Did you see Kevin Towers sitting back there in the front row? I wonder where he went now that it's the bottom of the 9th? :noidea:

League, Honeycutt, Mattingly, and Colletti should all get pink slips tomorrow. This is enough.

And too bad Puig is in the 4-hole right now. Maybe they;re going to bail these guys out. ^

Adrian can win this right here. No one better at the plate than him right now.

What a heartbreaker of a game tonight. WHEN will the powers to be move Jansen in to the Closer's role? How many more games is Mattingly going to allow League to blow?

Dodgers never should have lost this game. :bullshit:

What bad managing. League had no velocity on his ball. It was easy to see on TV. After the first 3 hits he should of been taken out. Dodgers need wins bad. Not the he's are closer and I'll stick with him even if he stinks tonight cause he's our closer! Don't want to hurt his feelings thing. Dodgers are in last place and have the highest salary in the universe. So Mattingly should go for wins not pride. It's just one step closer for Mattingly getting fired IMO.

Mattingly should have removed League after the first hit, not after 4 hits and a walk. They didn't even have anyone up in the bullpen until after 2 hits and a walk. If I'm the Dodger's manager, I have someone up in the bullpen the moment League steps on the mound because he's repeatedly shown he can't be trusted. And isn't part of Honeycutt's job to advise the manager? He's either giving bad advice or none at all, or maybe Donnie isn't listening.

Regarding the callup of Sellers, Mattingly said in the press that he has no input on who is called up or sent down. Obviously he and Colletti aren't talking. It's as if Donnie is saying, you give me a bunch of non-performers (in this case League), OK I'll play them and show you how it goes. There seems to be a SERIOUS breakdown in management on this club, and it's gone on long enough now that it's time for some major changes.

This would be a good time for a change at the GM level. The draft is out of the way. There's time for a new GM to put together some deals before the trade deadline. Note to owners: dump Colletti now and get a new GM who can put together a winning combination of players. Kasten, are you awake?

I've been confused with the League signing since it happened.

The fact that they plucked him from the Mariners, I have/had no issue with. My issue is that they gave him the big contract, and annointed him closer, without giving Jansen a chance to win the job himself.

Now, they have to taek action to admit they really blew it here, hopefully sooner than later, and, someone is probably going to have to pay for this decision with their job.

Money and talent are always wonderful things to have. HOWEVER, it is how you use it and what you do with it that really matters.
