mmmmm, some venom on the boards today. i like it.

personally don't watch enough of letang to pass judgment here, but i'm still pissed at mikael samuellson for falling on the ice in front of datsyuk, causing datsyuk to trip over him and land on his hand, causing a fracture which kept him out for ~15 games. and that was an accident.

hell, i'm still pissed at that jackoff from the devils (don't remember his name) that shot the puck into paul coffee's knee during the 95 finals that cuased himto go prone on the ice while the devils scored a goal.

When did this happen? Keep in mind I only got to see the 3rd period. If you watch Letang every game, he's by no means close to dirty player in the league status. He makes risky/over the line decisions at times yes, but he's not dirty.

Ya know those words on the main message board? They are called thread titles. They are indicators of where you go to talk about specific topics. Following along so far?

Now, if I were to go into a thread with the title Weiss cheapshots Martinek and say something like "Yeah well the Penguins are dirty" it doesn't make a lot of sense. It has nothing to so with the topic at hand and I don't think there would be a shortage of people that considered that trolling.

Now they might not consider it over the line, but I bet there would be at least 1 or 2 who thought I was acting like a complete idiot. I'd tend to agree with them.

It was right before Backstrom and he went at it along the boards. It is what set Backstrom off (that happens pretty rarely) when he took a swing, apparently. He finished the game though....got a shot...

I know that, honestly, there are very few 'saints' in this league. There's good reason for that, because not a single player will go through a career without getting cheapshotted, so the temptation to return fire only grows. I was just saying that Letang isn't even close to Avery/Burrish level. I'm sure he's an annoying prick to play against, but most good players with that extra grit are.

Hmm...was it behind the play? Totally missed it. I did see him take a swing at Tanger on the boards, and Tanger swung back.

Avery might be taking it a bit far, but so far this year he has injured (fairly seriously) Spezza and Backstrom on questionable plays at best.

Pretty soon there is no more questionable, just very dirty.

You make a good point about every player being dirty. Unless you're Gretzky or Lemieux you have to create your own space out there sometimes. Some players do it in a more honest way than others.
