I was a huge fan of the trade that brought him to Jersey.... I was ok with the contract he signed.... but is he ever gonna look like he belongs, I'm tired of waiting for him come alive... it's been almost 2 years that he has been a Devil.... is it ever gonna happen?

I agree 100% on everything. It's just amazing u add a talent like that to this team whos fault is it? Does this mean we can never see a kovalchuk or ovechkin type player in a devils jersey? Guy comes from one small market to another relative small market where theres about 12,000 at a game on a given night. Imagine the pressure if he signed in ny or la.

I think OV would have done well, he's already an all around player and has more talent than almost anyone else in the league, even Parise

Ovie and Kovy are clones except Ovie hits. We a world class all start in our captain.

Re: Will we ever see the Atlanta Kovy? It's a tough question to answer. I think that he proved during last years streak that he can easily produce 40 goals while not being a defensive liability. The biggest key is finding a center he can work well with. Henrique/Zajac/JJ. Someone will click with him or someone will come in via FA at this point. The issue is that we haven't been in a position to add a B.Richards since we've had him because we have to make commitments to other areas first. Travis was Kovy's center during the massive run last year, and if they click again, we'll be all set. It's going to be hard on Coach to separate ZaRique if this keeps up.

Ovie and Kovy are no where near clones. And that's not a knock on Kovy. Ovie is a top 5 player, not too many or in his league. He's taken the Caps to the playoffs countless times, Kovy only got there once. I would have been fine with Ovie, Sid, or Stamkos getting Kovys contract (well, not from us) but I dont think Kovy deserves it at all.

Nothing to be fair about, Ovie makes those guys better because he's that good. Kovy doesn't make anyone look better because he's not as good

Although, I will say this in defense of Kovy in this case, Ovie has the better coach, besides Lemaire.

Can't blame to coach all the time... I know Lou throws them away like they are garbage but sometimes the players have to step up and play..... they are grown men who have been playing this game their whole lives do you really think a coach is the problem?

Oh I agree, but you cant deny that Mac was just a horrible coach. Although, if Kovy stays the way he is now all year, maybe its not the coach.

Kovy has been good in about half the games so far IMO. He didn't have a good game until after Christmas last year.

I think coach is giving Kovy too much ice time. It eventualy will wear him out. 25 to 30 min per game?... How can you expect anyone to play well at the end of game after so much time spent on the ice and when we need that player to score tying goal or to break the tie?

He hasn't played over 25 for a while now. Personally, I don't like the idea of double shifting him or Parise on the 4th line. You're forcing him to grind away and it has to affect his full speed once he's out for his normal shift.
