Tough to say if these guys are genuinely considering this or if it's just a bluff to try and get the NHL to give in a bit. Either way it's not good. Even if a couple of these guys decide to stay it's a loss of talent for the league.

I don't think threatening to stay overseas is really going to matter to the owners and the NHL. Sure having some of the stars of the game not playing here would really suck but there are alot of really good players just waiting for their chance.

I feel like both sides are acting like assholes and we are the only ones that are really going to suffer if the season is lost.

The Russians have been very vocal throughout the lockout. Ovie, Kovy, and then you got Kostityn saying he wants to see the lockout last all season. Proof of how united the union is. I seriously doubt most of the players are echoing the thoughts of kostityn.

If nothing gets done soon, players are going to start questioning Fehr and the union reps.

Having Fehr represent you is a start of problems down the road.

I dont buy it at all. There is a reason why Russians came to the nhl and still do instead of playing in the khl. Quality of life being one of them. Safety is another. Kovys wife wanted to go to la. I doubt she wants to return to the mother land! Hell even jagr came back

I think that was just to make a cash grab to invest in gambling back in the Czech Republic.

Once Kovy is flying into stalingrad in the middle of Jan and its -35 outside I'm sure he will be regretting it. When he could be flying into Dallas that same night at 55

Quality of life is a big one. New Jersey has some of the best schools in the country/world, hospitals in Russia can be very 3rd world, and a 5 star restaurant in Moscow is 2 1/2 star restaurant here. Combine that with players dying on the bench, team planes crashing with a ton of warning signs leading up to it, who knows what other nightmares are going on there. All of that means nothing however if there is no league to come back to.

I don't remember where I read it but the other day wouldve been the first paycheck for kovy. This year getting 11 million he wouldve got I think $297,000. That would give him over 500,000 a month. That's insane! How many more of those is he willing to miss? How many players making the minimum can afford to miss the 17,000 i think it said?

its BS. Plus since its from Rusian media you never know teh context.

Also the NHL has a contract with the KHL that prohibits it
