That's probably what Suns fans thought 6-7 years ago... I don't think they care if Kobe keeps playing or not. It's been an automatic win against the Lakers for a while now. If anything the Lakers are a better team without him.
And yet the Lakers still what the Suns want the most - Championship Titles - 16 of them

Great player but if you're going to retire then just retire. Now we got the lame wicker chair tour crap like when Dr. J and Kareem retired. But that's the NBA I guess.
Careful - Kareem earned it and so did Kobe

Everyone on the Lakers roster just breathed a sigh of relief. You can see it. When Kobe is on the court the rest of the four guys are so intimidated, they really don't even want to touch the ball.

Aye, you would be taken more more seriously if Kobe didn't have his legacy, but nice try though.

Nothing I said was false. There is a better chance the ball will move better next season, there will be better chemistry, etc... How can anyone disagree with that? This has nothing to do with his "legacy".

Next step is to fire Byron Scott and perhaps hire Luke Walton.

But you taken joy in this like Kobe is in his prime or something. That's like me clowning Broncos fans over Manning

I'm not taking any joy in this. I said that in post #20 on the first page. This makes the Lakers better. I think Suns fans would actually prefer Kobe playing 5 more years.

He shouldn't even play the rest of the year, but in typical Kobe fashion, he's a selfish asshole who will hold the team back.

Lot of haters tonight - really jealous of Kobe's titles and accomplishments - I also smell bitterness from the little trolls - lol

Are we talking retired from basketball or tappin' hotel maids from behind without consent? Cause there is not any money in the latter, but he still has the skills for it. Hit me hard Laker fans, I deserve it!

Serious note, he is and should be an instant hall of fame member.

I'm not the biggest fan of Kobe as a person, but as a basketball player, he was the goods. It sucks that father time caught up to him, but he's got a resume that's similar to those that are all-time players.

He's done a lot for the game and will be missed.

It really is time to hang that jersey Kobe. Would be interesting to see how many games he will stay play.

As a life time Kobe hater, today I'd like to put my membership on hold and pay the man some respect.

He along with Duncan and Dirk are the last of their era. One of the greatest to ever do it and the best shooting guard and most prolific scorer outside of Jordan. Because of what he has accomplished and the longevity of his career he can now be in the discussion for top 5 of all time.

Personally, I think he's more top 8-10 but I could see why some would place him higher on the list than mines.

I tip my cap to the Black Mamba and wish him the best of luck post NBA career.

Now that I've gotten that out of the way...

Kobe sucks. Go Heat. Save Our Sonics. Eff Clay Bennett.

He ain't done, he'll come out of retirement sometime next year or the year after. No way he's calling it quits for good.

As a Spurs fan, FUCK KOBE! Sumbitch was a huge thorn in our side!

Seriously, though, what a great player, great career, see you in the Hall of Fame.

I doubt it. If he was playing like he was 2 years ago before the injury I would agree. I think the injuries took a toll on him.
