There is a new crop of kids in and entering the NBA. The era of Kobe/PP/KG/Nash/Duncan is coming to an end. Father time has spoken. Now the Heat are the old team and the other teams like Clippers and Rockets are the next to come up.
All teams can do is prepare and plan. KG can turn it on at any moment. That said, Danny really got this deal right

Lebron James - 28
Dwayne Wade - 31
Chris Bosh - 29
Mario Chalmers - 27
Norris Cole - 25
Michael Beasley - 24
You're probably accounting for average age of teams, which the Heat's are raised because of Ray Allen (38), Shane Battier (35) and Birdman (35). The core of this team is in it's prime. The Rockets aren't ever going to win with Dwight, the most mental fragile center in the league. The Clippers will always be a highlight reel team and that's it.
I was willing to accept Indiana as that's a well rounded and really well coached team. But to say the Heat are too old now is just laughable considering they're the most athletic team in the league.
