Problem with any Lakers deal is the draft pick they can offer is likely going to turn into a very late 1st round pick which does nothing for the Spurs when trading a top 5 player.

Boston on the other hand can offer that Kings pick which likely turns into a top 10 pick next year.

Getting Kawhi virtually guarantees getting Lebron which all but guarantees getting PG.

Even if PG doesn't come, they can preserve the cap space that would have used on him for next year.

Worst case you have Kawhi and Lebron. 2nd best case you have another star as a rental for PG or some good role players as rentals. Kawhi and Lebron is as good of a duo you can do right now in the league.

The thing is it leads to more than just Kawhi - to Lebron - PG13.

Looking at this strictly from Lebron's perspective, if the lakers give up all their young guys for you and Kawhi, do you really think you can beat the Dubs 4 of 7 with you, Kawhi, and a bunch of role players?

I still think it is unlikely that anything happens this week unless the Lakers absolutely blow the Spurs away which I don't think they can do.
