I'm pretty sure they could have had Johnny Manziel win that first one, though. The 2nd one he definitely earned

Earned it or not... he has 2 of them and that's two more than Johnny football and Kappy

And I sure wouldn't put much stock in Johnny Football....Cleveland will break him quick!!!

Only 12 million is singing bonus. Team player is all I have to say. Only a 3.4 million cap hit in 2014. Great job 49ers front office and Kap.

The deal doesn't seem as egregious as it does seem to allow the team some flexibility.

stupid statement because they won't cut after signing him. Keep being a hater because steelers have fallen and 49ers are on the rise.

Let me know when kaep learns to go through a progression.......since he has 4 good receiving options now is there gonna plays drawn up 1, 2,3,4,and 5
1-throw crabtree, crabtree covered-run
2-throw johnson, johnson covered-run
3-throw boldin, boldin covered-run
4-throw davis, davis covered-run
5-forgot play, run

I guess so because your not making any sense. This is the going rate for QBs now. Then throw in the fact that he is only getting 12 million in singing bonus to help 49ers sign their own. 2014 Cap hit 3.4 million. 18 million a year.

yup thats what he does. LOL Thats why VD and Boldin had good years. He only had 2 options. Now he has 5.

How can haters not see that he has more road playoff wins then most starting QBs in the NFL and how can people not see he has been to 2 NFC championship games in a row a trip to a Super Bowl where he would of been MVP if the 49ers won. Also beat GB(2 times) and Atlanta in the playoffs and he was a BIG factor in those games. He was the only offense against seattle and he did a lot better then the great Payton manning against the same team.

Also makes about the same as Romo and Cutler and Kap has proven a lot more then they have. It is the going rate. Watch what happens when QBs like Wilson, Dalton, RG3, Luck and Cam get more or about the same. We were just smart to sign our first.

12 million in signing bonus.

Wrong, Kap is over 7 years which is $18mil per, cutler and romo got the same and they will never sniff a Super Bowl or title game as Kap has in his first two seasons

Sweet, so we can call him McNabb2.0?

Ok and Flacco won a superbowl. Say hello Hater. Also Kap led his team, Sanchez didn't. Big difference. Go talk to GB about Kap. Kap is still running and throwing for TDs against them. LOL

Kap is a Top 10 QB on his way up. I see nothing wrong locking him up for the going rate plus being a team player to sign others with only getting 12 million singing bonus.

But none of those guys amounted to jack squat in the league.

Kaepernick at least lead his team to the SB his first year and almost lost a close NFC Championship game the 2nd.

Yes you could argue he had a great team around him but you also don't get that far in the playoffs without quality play from the QB position and most teams are successful in the playoffs because they are great teams.

I'm not saying it's not a lot of money but when Romo and Cutler can get the kind of money they get it than that's what the market is set at and that's what franchise QBs are going to ask for and get.

Pretty sure he didn't ALMOST lose the NFCC game the 2nd year.

nah bro quit sipping haterade......kaep is accomplished, and awesome and elite, and is better than everyone.......one second we say were paying for potential, then were paying for accomplishment, then its just the going rate.........were not sure, but were defending him!
