JDM, just loves him some, RGIII. Somehow he has a different grading scale for him, than he does for Kaepernick.

Their situations are massively different.

But find me talking negative on kaepernick at all beyond saying RG3 is better.

RG3 may be more talented, but that doesn't mean he's better.

RG3 has not done anything to prove that he can be a pure pocket passer in a pro style offense. Not in college and not in the pros. Shanny made the most of his talents last year by implementing an offense that he ran at Baylor (Same can be said for Kap). But when that well went dry he tried to make him a pocket passer. Now, his team is not great but there is a very good run game to take pressure off of him. I have seen him plenty of times this year have a clean pocket and open receivers and he still throws wide of them because his mechanics go to shit when he has to stand tall and read the field.

after reading all these responses. I don't think some are realizing the question. The question wasn't who will have the better career. Everyone is bringing up injuries & who the coaches are & such, which helps dictate a career. The question was who had a higher ceiling. (Players potential abilities) With that question to me it is a no brainer RGIII is the better passer & the smarter QB. Think Kaep lacks in reading defenses & read progressions. Those two things alone should tilt the decision to RGIII as being an NFL QB. Both are struggling this year. Which I argued with skins fans all off season about the DCs making adjustments against read options QBs. I was right. Only QB proving the DCs (& me) wrong is Russell Wilson. How the OCs adjust to it by next year will be interesting. Honestly even when Kaep was kicking butt last year, I wasn't seeing anything special with his passing game. He passed early to his 1st read or ran. That isn't to hard for DCs to figure out to stop. Who will have the better career..... Who knows. Who has the higher ceiling. No question is RGIII.

As far a the niners & all their picks. I think it would be smart to use one on a QB, but I think it is smart for all teams to do so & try finding a good back up that can take over a couple years later if need be instead of renting retread QBs. but I think the niners will use some of those extra picks to move around in the 1st 2 rounds. Don't think they will just sit on all of them & use them all. See them wheeling & dealing to get who they want in the 1st 2 rounds.

Also I want to add one more reason why the 49ers will draft a QB. Kaep rookie contract runs out at the end of next season, having a highly touted rookie on the roster in addition to the a vet would help give the 49ers some leverage when negotiating Kaep next contract IMO.

Good post. This is a breath of fresh air after reading all the other bs that people are saying about Kap.

Kap almost has an even vote with RG3 on upside. Id hardly say this board is too hard on him

Kaepernick. Kaep is a better team guy. RGIII is fighting with his coaches and teammates.

Actually, there is a question. I have been much higher on RGIII than Kaep but the only "fact" is that we don't know. You can have an opinion and it might even be more valid, BUT that does not make it a fact.
I'll repeat myself from earlier: Their ceiling is so far above them now that you cannot tell who's is higher. I'll add that as they get closer to it, we'll know the facts.

Yes, we do. Griffin is physically dominant to Kaepernick is every way but size, and a much more intelligent field awareness mentally. That doesn't mean he will automatically be better (Shanahan could ruin him), but he absolutely has far more upside.

"Griffin is physically dominant"? Is that why his knee gave out last year. "Much more intelligent field awareness mentally"? Is that why he puts himself in position to be injured almost every game, because of his "Intelligent field awareness" Do you realize what you are typing before posting? :laugh3:

I can see how someone would have said that LAST season, but that makes no sense this year. Griffin has clearly crashed back down to earth in a big way. And some QBs are never the same after a devastating injury.
