Avoided the Clippers...if the Clippers were that good, they'd have gotten there and had a chance to beat the Lakers. Instead, they choked away a 3-1 lead.

The Lakers built 3-1 leads in every round of the Western Conference playoffs and ended the series the very next game in each one. They built a 3-1 lead in the finals and finished that series in 6.
