...and looks like we decided to end the game early again.

Typical chickenshit franchise. Pitcher gives up an early run, and no one wants to do anything about it.

Might as well tank the rest of the season...or are they already doing that? I can't tell.

White Sox are not a very good team looking at the stat sheet Seattle looks like the better team but when you factor in the virus that is the Mariners. You get garbage baseball no matter who the opponent.

Sale is a monster though no reason to expect anything less than what he is doing to the M's.

Confession time: I turned the game off after the bottom of the 8th pissed off

I thought for sure Sale would be out for the 9th and there was no way this team was scoring 3 runs on him. Dammit. I normally record the game and I even deleted the recording so I couldn't go back and watch.

Lucky for the M's we live in a world of pitch counts and closers. It hurt them in KC with Paxton the other week but helped them here.

Sale probably retires the side in order in the 9th if he goes out there, the M's were overmatched against him. Thankfully since he was at 100 pitches and it's a save situation, the book says take him out.

unless owners give a green light to extending cruz, he needs to be traded, too. i can understand waiting until july next year or even winter of 2018, though.

Why is Benoit on our team? I've been asking this since the day we signed him... He's dead weight at this point... He's a waste of a roster spot... Just DFA him for the love of Pete... Let some youngster go in and gain experience while sporting a 5+ era... That would be more acceptable... Having a 40 year old veteran bullpen dude sporting a 5+ era is uncalled for... No rhyme or reason to keep a guy like this on your roster...

... and on another note... DIAZ is a freak of nature! 3 up - 3 down... All by KO... This game was worth watching just watch Diaz pitch those 3 batters...

I agree with this. The bullpen has been extremely inconsistent the entire year, revolving door between Tacoma and Seattle which is probably a big reason Benoit is still on the team and his salary.

I get why we traded for him and the cost of minor league players to get him was worth the risk imo, unfortunately we are getting the worst version of Benoit and should probably be rid of sooner than later.

From what I saw in the box score, the Miley Virus didn't help matters much, either.

I think if there was any thought of dealing him now would be the time. His value is likely at its highest. However I don't see it happening. I think they still believe they can compete next year. They will just miss the playoffs and not get a top 10 draft pick like most years.
