I think if there was any thought of dealing him now would be the time. His value is likely at its highest. However I don't see it happening. I think they still believe they can compete next year. They will just miss the playoffs and not get a top 10 draft pick like most years.
And I know this is not a popular topic, but if Felix would allow it now is a great time to deal him. He doesn't have the value he once did, but a team like the Dodgers would give up a pretty penny to get him. Love Felix, but it would be a good business move to free up his salary while getting some young guns back. It will never happen because we are the Mariners.

Yes they would. His value in a trade scenario is pretty good, M's wouldn't get what they could have a couple seasons ago but he still holds a solid price tag.I don't think anybody is going to give us a 'pretty penny' for Felix right now.
Felix Hernandez
Ketel Marte
To Dodgers For
Corey Seager
Yasiel Puig
Whatcha' think?
I heard the interview and the Zunino thing is utterly retarded. They are going to go every other game? Ya, that will get his confidence hitting. Just like Adam Moore all over again.

Dodgers might have lost Kershaw for season so they would overpay. Maybe not Seager, but others. Puig and young SP and ?.
I could be jumping the gun, but his decline in velocity and control makes me think Felix's days of being a sub 3.50 ERA pitcher are done. I'd take just about anything if they took his entire contract.
Not exactly the kind of return Felix was hoping to have...obviously...
This one's done.
I think a new start on a contending team AND going to the NL might help keep him in the 3.50 range.
Just checked the box score (at work so I can't watch it on TV). I see that Zunino homered. Good for him, happy to see him hitting well. He has such massive potential (I almost hate even using that word on here), I really want to see him reach it.
And then Lind homered next inning to tie it. Increasing his trade value is a good thing.
