had sports hernia operation yesterday and is expected to be ready for spring training. that's good news
That's what I figured would happen. Sports hernia is better than a significant groin pull as it can be easily repaired through surgery.
I wonder what injury he will have next year that will keep him playing at 50%? Seriously have to consider cutting ties with him after next year. He isn't going to be worth what he and his agent have in mind.
Are you saying he is the new Brett Saberhagen? But does an .882 OPS actually suck?

You people can put words in people mouths better than any board I've seen. Pleases show me where I said josh sucked.
for a player who is only 30 and only played in 121 games this last season i'll take his numbers. he hit .298, hit 31 doubles, 5 triples, 25 homers and drove in 94 runs.
extrapolating that over a whole season he could go for 40+ doubles, 8+ triples, 32+ homers and drive in 120+ RBI's this coming season if he stays healthy. i know that's a big IF but you don't let a player capable of those numbers walk.
And those numbers you listed will be what he does next year. Every other year...just look at his career numbers.
well we'll have to wait and see, won't we?
I'll take Hamilton's off years over most other guys. Some guys you just hope to never see in another jersey. Hambone is that guy for me. I know business is business but I hope they offer him a good deal. I'll take a guy who might break his arm or ribs from playing his ass off over a guy who might pull a hammy every time he jogs to first base.
if you're talking Cruz, i'll take him too but only if the Rangers put him thru an off-season training program that strengthens his lower body to eliminate the hamstring problems. you don't write off a guy that can hit 40+ homers without making an effort to fix his problem
Agreed I'm just saying if you're in a situation where you can only afford to keep one injury riddled star OF'er, I think you go with Hambone.
