LMFAO. That was a clean slide. The pussies of today's baseball just can't take it. Odor's day will come. I see where Odor got a 7 game suspension. If it were up to me, I would have suspended him for at least 10 games. You can't throw a punch and hit game in the jaw. Jockeying for position is not running a guy over because you were late to the spot. He knocked the guy down because it was the only way he was going to be able to make a play on the ball.

As i said, I'm not addressing any specific play you already talked about. Just saying that you can certainly go through a guy to get the ball without it being interference.

I disagree. You might be able to have incidental contact. You cannot just flat out run a guy over after he's beaten you to the spot.

of course it would exist. You just have to play the ball and not the player. Everyone has an equal right to the ball, so as long as you are making a play on the ball you are most certainly allowed to make contact and jockey for position.

Fordman, actually a defensive player does have a equal right to the ball, but he can not go through an offens8ve player to get the ball. If the defensive player hit the receiver from behind while going for the ball, he will most likely get called for P.I.

If what you are saying is true, then why did Bautista get only a one game suspension? Maybe I'm wrong, but I never read that Bautista's slide was illegal.

It was a good, hard slide as measure by about a century and a half of professional baseball. But last offseason, MLB in their infinite wisdom instituted the Mets-are-quims-2nd-base-slide-rule and now it's illegal.

The rule is similar to the Buster-Posey-Is-A-Twat-Collisions-At-Home-Rule.

A. He committed the same heinous crime two weeks earlier on another player

B. He mouthed off about the officials not handleing the situation properly.
