And the Jets drafted a QB last year. Yeah, he sucks but they want to give him more time to 'prove' himself.

Most likely he'll head to either Jacksonville or Cleveland where he'll die a slow, painful death.

I see comparisons to Tim Tebow and I'm not buying it.

I keep reading that people expect him to fail....

The truth is, it all depends upon where he goes.

If he goes to a club that just expect him to do what he did at A&M, yeah - he'll fail. Running QB's have short life spans in this league.

If he goes to a club that can get him to curb that back and use that speed and agility to stay behind the line and make plays downfield - ie, Big Ben, Russell Wilson, or Kaep than he'll be fine. He can pull it down and run with it somewhat - as Kaep does against the Packers - but it can't be a matter of course. He's got to become more of a pocket passer.

The key is going to be to not put him in a box. You can't expect the kid (and that's what he is) to QB like anyone else but him. Let him find his own way within some practical guidelines.

That, combined with patience, a strong run game and solid defense, will help him make it.

Agreed. Johnny has better mechanics than tebow. He has a better chance of being a decent pocket passer in the nfl.

He will make the team that drafts him dinero. I think he can be effective in the NFL if given the right scheme. It's all on him to adjust his game and that's a big if. RGIII is the prime example of that.

I think his run of success will be short...much like RG3's will if he keeps getting exposed.
