What kinda background checks to you think needs to be done? Hire a plethora of detectives. Overall they try their best. OU was one of the first programs to conduct some sort of background check, many still don't to this day. When you are looking at charges you just go to the county docket and see if there are any record of convictions, if not what more else do you what?

You are an Ohio State fan, how many guy's does tOSU recruit each year? Not land just recruit. That is a crapload of resources that would be required to look at each and every kid, let alone some of the po-dunk counties or communities where these kids come from aren't known fro their record keeping.

Overall, I think for the most part programs do their best.
