Sorry guys, HOTH was a total disappoint after LZ IV (or Runes or Zoso or whatever). There were a lot better albums released at about the same time as HOTH that I still listen to, Trower's Bridge of Sighs for one, and the aforementioned Black Sabbath. I probably haven't listened to HOTH but twice since I finally bought a CD of it in the mid-80s. It just doesn't do anything for me. And then came Physical Graffiti and I knew HOTH was mediocre at best.

Zeppelin III was my 'meh' album (save Bron-Y-Aur Stomp" and "Tangerine")...never really cared for "Immigrant Song" whereas I liked every tune on Houses - I mean dude, how can you not like "The Crunge"?!?!?

Yep, it's just my opinion...and you have yours. That's what makes music what it is, enjoyable for you and me, just different takes on some it. :suds:

Agreed. That's why I resisted the temptation to tell you that you're wrong. :suds:

I also get a lot of flak because I consider Blue Oyster Cult to be better than Aerosmith and Van Halen... :D

I haven't listened to much BOC, just the Reaper album. I get flak for Steely Dan.

I am fucking pumped because last Friday I scored 12th row center seats to see Steely Dan with special guest Elvis Costello and The Attractions. Two of my favs, one tix.

I'm pretty sure I like Van Halen and Aerosmith better than BOC, but like you said, it's opinion.

Mmmm....Nah, I'd rather call you "ghey hater" for your choices.
(j/k!)

I was only born in 1970 so I came at LZ and most classic rock later on, and often out of order. I didn't start exclusively with LZ I and II, and I never anticipated each new album as it was released, which is a much different experience.

First Zep album I ever heard straight through was an 8-track of The Song Remains the Same, which was primarily stuff off of HOTH and IV. It took me years to warm up to the folksy III.

That's true of most people. But I started with BOC's first album which came out my senior year in high school. The first 3 BOC albums are their best, Agents of Fortune (the Reaper album) was a kind of let down after Secret Treaties and Spectres after AoF is a much better album too. AoF was strictly for AM play...

I had a guitar teacher in HS who loved him some BOC, primarily because they utilized at least 3 major key signatures per song, or some crap. I like a few of their hits but I have never bought one of their albums. It's a rare group that I actually sought out their entire catalog -- like the who.
