This shit sucks!!! I don't care what the reasoning... I don't buy a new hat and order league pass every year just to watch Lakers games to see Jeremy Lin and wait until next year... I waited until this year... We all knew Melo and James weren't coming... Build around it while everybody else fights for those 2...

Did they resign Hill? I missed that....Bledsoe and Ariza are long shots unless by odd chance their teams match any offer sheet. Guessing Pau will take less to sign with a contender or we shall see if offering him the most he decides to come back but doubt it the way things are going.

I really like the Lin move for a few reasons. He's a decent to good PG, he's fun to watch, he's said to be very coachable and he has an expiring contract.

His biggest weaknesses are that he's streaky/inconsistent and he's a defensive liability. If, as many are saying, Byron Scott becomes the Lakers next coach and Scott can coach him up, he could be a pretty good acquisition and be re-signed after the season for less than he is currently making. If he doesn't work out, he comes off the books at the end of the season.


Plus, the Lakers get a 1st rounder and it only cost them some cash and the rights to a foreign player. Or as someone else said earlier.......a handshake.

Personally I'm more excited about the 1st rounder than I am Lin. He is serviceable but he's no full time starter, IMO. He is very streaky as you stated and his defense leaves a lot to be desired. I'll take him but I'm just not in anyway excited or think he is a piece for the future.

Pau is almost 100% gone. Heard he turned down offer of $10 million. I say, good for him. I hope he goes to the Spurs and gets a ring.

I'd love to see them get Monroe though.

Monroe wouldn't be a bad replacement in terms of D but limited on offense compared to Pau

I agree with pretty much all of this. I doubt he's a future piece either. But in the meantime, he's fun to watch and we get that pick.

I hope the Lakers keep Nash around to mentor him, Marshall and Clarkson. If he can improve and earn a longer deal, great. If not, we lose nothing and gain that pick. Win for the Lakers no matter what.
