The venue doesn't matter. The intent, that's what matters.

I concur. This isn't BSPN, where you actually have to go into a team's forum to see what is being said. SportsHoopla has a lot more open discussions & if you make a stupid remark, you're open for ridicule. You didn't troll on the team or player. You called out a weak comment. :agree:

EDIT: Shit. I just defended a Niner fan...

Calling out a weak comment is fair. Saying 'you mad bro, awww did he hurt your feelings?' Comes off very trollish and leads to more trolling.

That wasn't trolling at all. He made a troll post and I responded. Kaep might one day be the 2nd best QB in the division? Wake up and stop supporting a troll.

seriously, this is turning into ESPN already and those forums aren't shut down.

There needs to be a troll alert button so then the mods can ban them from this board.

Well this took off into a direction I didn’t see coming. Anyways Jaws has spoken and he has placed Kaep right after Wilson. Too me I think luck should not be number one in the big 4 (or whatever their name is for the rookie QB’s last year). Mainly I don’t feel the colt’s talent as a team was much different than Washington’s. Yet Luck throw more INTs, and had a way lower passer rating. The only thing Luck did better was put up more passing yards than the others and that can be explained by the fact he throw it 60 plus a game. I’m not sure why Jaws would have luck ahead of the other three when to me the 3 did more than luck. Any ideas? (just so everyone knows of the four QB’s I saw luck the least, so maybe I’m missing something.)

Luck inherited a terrible team, unlike Kaepernick or Wilson or even RGIII, he didn't have a good offensive line, he didn't have a Frank Gore or Marshawn Lynch to help him out, and he threw the ball a ton, unlike Wilson or Kaepernick who were running very ground oriented offenses. I think it comes down to Luck had far less to work with, was given much more responsibility, and was given it from the very beginning and did a fantastic job. I'm a huge 49er fan, think Kaepernick will be a fantastic quarterback, but I would put Luck ahead of either Wilson or Kaepernick or RGIII,

I think people exaggerate Luck. He was good but everybody seems to want to ignore his mistakes. I felt as if the common sentiment was to brush his mistakes under the rug because he was a rookie, then talk about how advanced he was for a rookie. I know he took a bad team and made them better, but he has the weakest division and the easiest schedule. And he still had one of the worst QB rankings. If someone knows more about the game than me, and I will be the first to admit I have average fan knowledge, then they can certainly say they saw the potential for Luck to be great. However, I will not be convinced that Luck was superior to any of the other three last year. Anyone ranking him high is doing so on potential as far as I am concerned.

Another point about Luck (and RG3). They were both given the keys to that offense knowing there was no way they could lose the job. No matter what, they are the franchise QB. It would take at least two years of bad play to lose that. That is a lot of pressure off their shoulders. Knowing you can come in and be terrible and take risks and not lose your job is a bog advantage. Wilson and Kaep did not have that luxury. THey both knew that if they played terribly there was a guy on the bench the coaches were ready to put in. SO its easy to say those guys had better teams, but people seem to forget that with great power comes great responsibility. These guys were required to win and they still came through.

Awww:bawling:, did Jaws hurt your wittle feewings?

RoboticDreams, If I may respectfully ask. Seeing that this is a Seahawks Board...
Would you please consider not posting comments such as the above. To me it came across as disrespectful, antagonistic, and inflammatory. This seemed more akin to normal ESPN board banter. Like where you referred to some of us Seahawks fans here in our Seahawks forum as "delusional clowns". In your defense SonnyCID had been getting on your case right, fair enough?

But if I could again respectfully request that you let us homer in our forum. Please keep shit in perspective. I think you're cool and don't want you to stop posting. I will also acknowledge that habits die hard (ESPN dig there).

Jus' sayin'.

Yeah, I'll call someone out for trolling with shit like 'you mad bro', and when they respond with 'delusional clowns' it doesn't help their cause. Guess you disagree....

Disagree ? Hell no my brudda !
In fact, I thought we paired rather effectively as two sides of the same coin.

I was speaking in a way that would hopefully appeal to a dude's rational side. You know?

Now that I think about it, what I said could have much more easily been ignored had you not first contributed.

We good?

That's a fair point, but Luck was IT for the franchise -- it was all on his shoulders -- but I agree that Wilson and Kaepernick had the pressure of the expectation that they had playoff caliber teams -- for Kaepernick especially his team had been to the NFC Title Game the year before, so anything less than a Super Bowl appearance would have been a disappointment. As to your earlier post, I don't know how to respond to that, the fact is that Luck inherited the worst team in football and with really no other good additions led them to a playoff berth -- and again he didn't have an O-line to protect him, and no running back to take the pressure off -- Luck on either the 49ers or the Seahawks would have been extraordinary. Now all that being said I think that after one season you can't really tell how any of these quarterbacks are going to turn out -- I think Kaepernick has the opportunity to be really special since he has some unique physical gifts to go along with his work ethic and smarts as well as an excellent quarterback coach in Harbaugh and Roman, but I could be wrong.

Sounds like you could also be describing Wilson...

To other teams, NFCW will translate to No Fucking Chance to Win...

Yes, yes they do. I will do a better job at not responding to trolls, with even more trolling. Obviously that just adds fuel to the fire.

Not suprise to see Keap, RG3, and Wilson rank outside the top ten. In my other post in the top ten QB thread I put Luck at 10 and the other 3 out base on that we will have to see if they can produce another yr. The difference in my top ten is Cutler at 9 and Shaub is out.

There are some fantastic QB's in this league to figure a top10. The top tier has like 6 or 7 already. The second tier seems to spread across the entire league almost. So that is up to you to homer out, yer favorite few off the top of the second tier. They are all really very even. You cant forget Cutler, at all. Thanks for the post, GO HAWKS!
