His 39 million is the salary you need to fit a star into the salary cap. That piece could be a player like Pascal Siakam or Zack Lavine.

You are dreaming on those guys.

Its impossible for Phili to come up on offer that would be even close to the range of best offer with just picks and expiring deals. Half the league has expiring deals and draft picks. Plus a lot of them have some enticing young development players to throw in.

....at least this year. Free agency is a whole other story obviously.

They are in a position similar to the Lakers last year. Gonna be interesting and fun to see what they do with what they got and if they can match or exceed what the Lakers did.
DLo
Vanderbilt
Rui

Did I leave anybody out?

Meh. I got told I was delusional all summer and here we are and I was right about what Harden could bring back.

Truth be told, I’d rather the Sixers go for OG Anunoby and keep Harris as their 4.

You got very close to what you predicted he could fetch.

Chicago could implode.

But, I think it's more likely they can get a Kuzma, Grant from the Wiz or B!azers.

In my opinion, they got more. I had it at Mann, Batum or RoCo and Morris plus one first.

I prefer the extra first and the swap over Mann because it’s clear this deal now isn’t about getting usable depth from Clippers (though one guy may fill the regular season rotation). Additionally, once Harden leaves an energy dirty work guy like Tucker whose only offense is standing around in the corner had little value. They got out from under his 11 million for next year.

Sixers did better than I originally hoped.

This will be a fun debate. I’m not a DLo guy so I may have a blind spot in assessing him.

I like D-Lo okay. But he's too hot and cold for me. His play down the stretch and in most of the playoffs is a good part of how the Lakers made the WCF, but his play in the WCF is a good part of why they got swept.

I think there's a solid chance he'll be part of a move later in the season...maybe around the trade deadline.

Last night in the Lakers post game they were suggesting that the Lakers will give things about 30-35 games for everyone to get on the same page and then look to make any moves they think are necessary.

That’s probably the best way to handle things. (30-35 games). I personally think the Lakers need shooting.

Kuz could be interesting in Philly. He has shown he can be a decent #3. But he's had a taste of being "the guy"...would he be good with being a #3 again on a team that could get a ring?

Yeah but even if Chicago implodes, the rest of the league gets to join on the bidding too. That was my point. You arent getting a top player 50-75 player with just future picks and expiring contracts. Someone will beat that offer. The Chicago GM might as well be signing his own termination papers to only take picks 3-6 years down the road in exchange for his best asset.

Someone said it above. Very similar spot that the Lakers were in last year. Guys like Rui, DLo ect are the type of players they are looking at realistically. This trade gives the 76ers a chance to re-shufffle the deck chairs. It doesnt give them the flexibility to get a new boat. (Again....at least for this year. During the offseason all bets are off in sign and trades).

Outside of having Harden on my team, the part that bothers me most is having to deal Baum because PJ and that Sloth bitch are a package deal.

Why is that?

PJ his muscle at the strip club?

Spearemint Rhino bout to be LIT.
He was a Harden demand even signing him. I will say that he added snarl and toughness to a Sixers group that really lacked that. They now have that in Pat Bev for much cheaper than Tucker’s 11 million per year.

It’s funny but the two 2nd round picks they got back is like pay back for the Sixers losing 2 picks last summer for the Harden/Morey/House/Tucker tampering shit. It’s almost like Morey hit the reset button.

Hopefully balling in a go nowhere wasteland is the piece that will allow him to sacrifice personal stats to play a role on a team with aspirations. Also…it’s gotta suck running up and down the floor living the Jordan Poole Experience.
