James Bond 24: Spectre (2015)

Excellent title. Hopefully the film lives up to the name, as anyone who is a fan of Bond knows what Spectre means to the whole series.

New Bond Script Leaks: Execs Scrambling to Fix Awful Ending

So as part of the Sony hack, the script for the new Bond movie leaked out. After reading it over, I'm in agreement with the author of that piece and the executives, that movie sounds lousy. I really hope they rewrite everything. That would be a complete and total waste of Waltz if that's his role.

What's everyone's opinion about the Sony exec wanting Idris Elba to be the next Bond? I'm not a fan, as changing the character's race after 25 movies in the franchise would totally destroy everything the series is based off of. I keep seeing people on the internet arguing that it's no big deal, because the name James Bond is just a code name. If those people would take the time to learn more about the franchise, they would know that is just not true at all. Another argument that people keep making is that Fleming never specified what race James Bond was. If that were true, then Live and Let Die and You Only Live Twice would not have worked out as they did, as Live and Let Die was based on a white man, (Bond), being out of place in predominately black Manhattan, New Orleans and Jamaica. He stuck out like a sore thumb in those locations, and that was the whole plot of the movie. In You Only Live Twice, Bond 'dies' and comes back as an Asian man so he can blend in with the population so that he can infiltrate Blofeld's lair. A man of another race would not have been able to do that so easily.

Pretty sure Bond is suppose to be a white British man so people need to stfu and deal with it. Just make a new franchise with Idris Elba as a Bond/Jason Bourne type guy. I'd gladly watch. Hollywood is just fucking lazy.

Exactly, this would be the perfect time to expand the 00 franchise and add 008 to the mix.

The trailer almost seems to imply that an executive officer or even the head of SPECTRE (Christoph Waltz) is a close relative/guardian, perhaps even the real father of James Bond.

Thunderball was on tv last night. The scene where the redhead picks up James in the mustang and starts speeding. James glances over and see's that she's wearing one of those rings and immediately knows she's involved.

Now that I think about it, Christoph Waltz and Daniel Craig are probably too close together in age to be guardian and child. So...I believe the characters might be brothers.

The document with the picture mentions a "order of temporary guardianship". It's possible that they're blood related. Maybe a cousin.
