not as bad as quantum, better than most bond movies, but still not very good

i was on the fence about whether or not to wait to see it on video, and i can't say that it was a waste of money or anything. it was fun enough. i'll never watch it again, though, probably.

paled in comparison to casino royale and skyfall, both of which were excellent films, not just excellent bond films.

This Bond franchise needs Christopher Nolan!

I read that he was seriously considered for this film and the major people in charge of the Bond franchises view Nolan as a dream candidate.

Nolan is a huge fan of Bond so if the opportunity is right I think he'd do it and he might very well make the best Bond we'll ever see. If it were to ever happen I'd want him to pair up with Roger Deakins as the cinematographer. Nolan has a brilliant mind for big ideas and concepts. Combine his intricate story telling with Roger Deakin's vision and the grand spectacle set pieces that usually come with Nolan's films and we'd have the perfect Bond film.

Starring...Tom Hardy perhaps? maybe Fassbender?

i don't know how nolan would do with a traditional film of any genre, whether it's drama or action or comedy or whatever.

hardy strikes me as somebody who would find playing bond boring. fassbender would be great, and i think he's at an age and and place in his career where he'd play bond in a heartbeat.

Saw it today and pretty much agree with the review here. Entertaining but not great.
