jagrs obviously one of all time greats but at his age he wears down and is almost useless during the playoff grind. I really thought he was going get a big goal or 2 for us in the finals last year but it just didn't happen

It's certainly a concern of mine. Somebody needs to step up or be brought in to get him back toward more of a role player instead of being the go to guy.

I wouldn't go that far. I still think we're a top line player away from being a totally different team. Top to bottom there aren't any real weaknesses, we just lack that true top tier player. Fuck Kovy.

That great depth Lou was talking about to start the season is a Jansen-Sestito 4th line. Maybe the culture is wrong. No other team with depth relies on guys like Stephen Gionta and Tom Sestito to motivate the team like the Devils do.

i think i agree with this....

i love the gionta 4th line. but no one ever stopped to say.....why are these guys 4th line players playing better then our other guys? our "go to" "star" players?


that being said why are we worrying about the 4th line when the top 3 lines suck!

we are 30 games into the season and 1 guy on our team has double digit goals. thats it! and we all know he wont keep that pace up.

7 goals is the next best....we have a ton of "role players" hell thats an understatement and a half! we are going to probably have the most 15 goal scorers in nhl history this year. yeah thats good on paper but needing a clutch goal to put us over the top in the 3rd? not so good!
