New cars are being revealed this month, with Haas being first to show (computer images of) their car. The Race put together a good video which also questions how accurate these images may be - seems like quite a few oddities.

Also a but ironic that after “taking 2021 to focus on the 22 car, they show up with an identical livery.

First glimpse of the RB18. Unsurprisingly, RB doesn’t mess with their livery. The new nose makes the yellow chicken beak even more prominent.

so in theory equipment wise they should be able to compete with Ferrari this year?

They just use a handful Ferrari components. It isn’t crazy for some of the smaller teams to utilize components from larger teams. They’ve got their own chassis and aero, where they’re clearly significantly lagging

yeah I get that, but arent they using Ferrari people for those aerodynamics where as before they used kites. 2 years working on the car (ignoring last year) & picking up a bunch of Ferrari peeps. In theory their equipment could be close. Drivers a whole different conversation, but equipment could be much closer if the ferrari people were good at their jobs.

Oh gotcha - I thought you were just referring to
their suspension. They did pick up some more staff from Ferrari, who are most definitely going to be better trained, but I can’t imagine any serious trade secrets traded hands. The resource (and data) gap is still huge between the programs

This thread may prove to be very useless in terms of finding anything tangible out about the new cars, outside of generic looks.

Horner admits RB18 ‘won’t look very much like’ launch car, as Red Bull prepare to defend drivers’ title | Formula 1®

And speaking at the car’s launch, Horner admitted that fans should expect the RB18 to look very different by the time the five lights go out at the Bahrain Grand Prix on March 20.

I guess I can just use this thread to complain about teams continuing to be unimaginative with their liveries.

Triple swan-neck spoiler is weird but the color scheme is fire.

I have grown to hate the word reveal. Baby gender reveal, Christie Brinkley reveals her bikini body, everybody is now revealing something.

Aston looks sweet, RB fucking about as usual.

McLaren very wisely incorporating the gulf blue in their livery. Always an awesome color combo

I don't get why RB is so secretive. It's just a game for them at this point. The rules are pretty new. There is no reason to hide the cars' details at this point except to be an asshole. Especially when the sister team revealed the real car. It's not like one of the other teams witll see something and have time to re-engineer before Bahrain. You don't know how bad I want them to get it wrong. I am so tired of their half assed "gamesmanship"

I love it, but am I the only one who actually likes the eSports livery without the blue better?

I think their Indy Liveries looked better too.

As in NASCAR, those bigger wheels do bring a whole set of dynamics that the teams are adjusting to with the air-management packages demonstrated on all the new cars. Personally, I like the changes coming to both series.

The Ferrari is a crazy. This season will be an absolute scramble of chassis upgrades. There is just so much variation between the cars. I’m actually much more excited for it than I was initially

Neat fact: this is the first time since 1955 that there will be 4 cars representing the old international racing country color system.

Red car from Italy
Blue car from France
Green car from Britain
Silver car from Germany

Air Management systems to get the air properly used especially with the new bigger wheels.
