Figured i would cut this off before it becomes a thing. Apparently he is posting vacation pics on his instagram. Word is he likely had this trip planned before he was going to be released by the Eagles. But many will say him not canceling his vacation to go to voluntary workouts just shows how selfish he is. to that I would say, how many of us would scrap a trip planned months in advance to show up at the company team building excersize that wasnt mandatory?

But expect this to gain some hater posts.

Unfortunately because of his track record, he will take heat from this. I agree, most of us would not forgo a planned vacation to attend a voluntary work meeting, especially knowing that the next 9 months was going to be dedicated 100% to the job. He probably should have issued a statement once he realized that he couldn't make it as a preemptive strike. Once these bloggers have the chance to start speculating, it always goes negative quickly.

Oh i agree. But if one of us didn't get it out there first, I can imagine the influx of trolls... which will likely still come sadly.

The Redskins were foolish to not nip this in the bud before it came out. A simple: "We are delighted to have him as a part of the team. We look forward to begin working with him in { }, as he will not be asked to be in attendance until then....."

That would have been a nice preemptive strike. But given it's the skins, cue the media circus...

Well even though alot of think that it's not a big(It isn't and shouldn't be) ESPN already starting to blow it out of proportion. Saying that, "he should be there, it's a new team. If he can help it to be there, which I know he could, and he should have delayed his trip" Good lord...

What a shocker. Time for all of us to collectively state "Who gives a crap". Clowns like Skip Bayless and Mike & Mike make a big deal out of just about anything. In a strange way this might be a good way to test Jackson, Gruden, RG3 and the rest of the Skins to ensure that they just ignore this kind of nonsense. They should learn from folks like Belichick & Popovich to just ignore this nonsense & eventually make the media reluctant to bring their folks to Redskins Park.

Guys.. .remember... my only reason for posting this was to get ahead of the possible Eagles/Cowboys troll flux that i semi expected with this news. Personally i dont think its a big deal at all. So he went on vacation and is missing the first week of voluntary weight lifting. And for that matter Deangelo Hall is doing the same thing. Now if he misses two weeks of training camp, then I will be concerned. But as for right now... I think we are good.

No - understand. However - we can laugh at those trolls for the time being. Cowboys fans are in no position to be beating their chests. Honest Eagles fans can in no way be happy with the latest developments. Until this is proven to be an issue during actual games next season I will laugh at these guys. I am putting my money on this being a very good move barring injuries or something unforeseen. I believe that we have already basically put one Eagles troll in his place on another thread (dealing with Jackson's jersey number).

A better way to impress your boss and the folks who said you were selfish would have been to prove them wrong. He decided against that. I guess I just have a different work ethic. Maybe he can design a logo while his on vacation.

Gotcha. My reply was a general reply to those that think it was wrong....not to you.:suds:

If he were missing training camp I would agree. If he were missing a game, I would agree. But he is basically missing weight room work which the team knew about before they signed him. To me its not really a big deal he misses three days of lifting. If he is like normal people, this trip was planned months ago.

I could care less if he misses weight lifting. My point was he has a reputation as a selfish player. By showing up he doesn't give ESPN et al a chance to say "SEE!!" He is not an average Joe, he is a millionaire and can re-schedule his vacation.

It's not about missing the practice it is about appearances. Most of the Redskin fans are going to say "no big deal." Everyone else is going to say "told you." He could have prevented that but chose not to.

Hey it's the Redskins ... that is what this team does well. If he catches 80 balls, averages 17 yards per catch and scores 6-9 TDs no one will care. His not being in camp today doesn't jeopardize that.

why does he or anyone else in that situation need to care what espn thinks ?
