Maybe they felt they owed it to him after a decade of busting his ass for an often average or below average team.

fishing wouldnt hurt, but I dont think they would have gotten any bites.
I believe everyone knew he was gonna be gone so just wait & now you dont pay him his 17 mil. or whatever it was. he is a FA.

Even before the Watt release, the Bills have been considering freeing up substantial cap space by releasing several high priced veterans over the age of 30. One article has the Bills releasing John Brown, Cole Beasly, Quinton Jefferson, and Vernon Butler, for a combined savings of $28 million.

Watt said he would be willing to work with a teams’ cap as far as price. I don’t think he will get more than $12M...as he shouldn’t. If a team pays more than that they are getting desperate
