Nah. They wanted another shooter and to dump Beasley’s contract. You don’t get to play arm chair QB like that.

They barely even played Muscala. He racked up a total of 265 minutes as a Laker. Then he left for Oklahoma, leaving space for Davis both physically and financially, exactly as I already explained to you.

It isn’t that LeBron can’t play with Ball. Ball couldn’t play with LeBron.

He was the worst shooter in the league his first 2 seasons.

Now look up what Ball shot in the season that we are discussing. 37.5% from the arc. While adding 7 assists and 6 rebounds. Absolutely playable next to almost anyone, but certainly James. That's basically 2025 Reaves with vastly better defense.

You have to be kidding me with your nonsense.

And Ingram was able to earn the MIP award and his lone all star bid that year because he moved out of LeBron’s shadow and played on a bad Pelicans team. He doesn’t likely get there in LA.

As I said, the Lakers did not need him to win awards, just to play like he was capable of. This is not hard to understand, at all.

You should be. Try harder, and do better next time.

(1) I asked you if you thought what you say is always correct. That was your answer.

That statement is completely different from claiming that I "know everything".

What I do not do, is comment on topics where I do not know the answer. For example, if the topic here was "Who were the 3 best passers on the '56 Hawks?" I would not comment, because I do not know the answer.

But when I do make a remark, I am sure that I am correct ( except with respect to speculating about what might happen in the future ).

This is really, really not hard material to understand, if one has a basic grounding in the English language.

Just acquired a Williams but not Robert or Grant or even a bigger one Williams Tennis players or Mitch or Ted but Nark from Hornets.

I [ edit: really like] that trade. Did not think Mark Williams was obtainable, and they didn't have to give up Reaves.

I was expecting something like Knecht for Day'Ron Sharpe.

edit: It was expensive...

Do they need to trade Vincent and do they make a over night trade,

Are they lacking basketballs? I don't think you can trade Vincent for anything except sporting equipment.

Don't need to unless a solid opportunity is out there.

I would like to see them dump Kleber's contract with their remaining 2nd to get under the 1st apron and open a second roster spot. Key for the buyout market. If not that, maybe still consider a trade for Sharpe from the Nets for depth at center (Wood/Hayes/2nd?)

He's not a giveaway player at this point. He's a good not great defender and has been hitting his threes decently of late.

Lots of guys can make a few threes in garbage time, and he's a bad defender and atrocious ball-handler. Watch when the Lakers ( rarely ) allow Vincent to bring the ball up -- he gets trapped ( by one defender ) against the sideline and midcourt line every time, and James has to go out to the logo to bail him out, which throws off the whole possession.

And he's owed ~$16M, which make him a negative asset.

No need. He's a nice back up PG to have and he's on a good deal.

He's not an NBA caliber PG. He can barely bring the ball across the time line under pressure. And he's got 1.5 seasons at $11M each remaining, which is not team friendly. He makes almost as much as Reaves, and more than Vanderbilt ( who is miles better defensively, and just as good offensively ).

The Lakers do not need a 4th PG behind Doncic, James, and Reaves, and especially not one at $11M. Even Milton is a better PG ( averages more assists than Vincent, and shoots way better ).

That is a lot better than I thought they would get

With how great Ball and Ingram were…

Tell me how many games the Pelicans won that year?

Again, you are making a lot bad assumptions. There was a lot of pressure on these guys playing with LeBron in LA. They got a fresh start on a bad team where is a lot easier to compile stats.

While Ball improved his shooting that off season, he was still 56% from the free throw line. You really betting on that guy making big shots in the playoffs?

And if Ball was so great, tell me why the Pelicans didn’t keep him for themselves? All they got back in the trade was 2 bench guys and a 2nd round pick. If he were anything close to as good as you claim the Pelicans would have resigned him.

Why don’t you poll the other Laker fans and ask them if they think the Lakers would have won in 2020

Oh…

And Brandon Ingram just traded for Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynk 1 1st and 1 2nd

Ingram is a good player. But if people around the league truly believed he was a championship caliber #2, he would have returned a lot more.

He has gotten better on defense recently, but was known as a terrible defender back in 19’ and ‘20

He's not a garbage time player. Do you even watch Lakers games?

His contract this year is $11M, $11.5M next season.

It's time to be a Lakers fan.

I converted.

Followed my guy from Dallas.

What a great run last year.

Was a joy to watch.

The real 2024 MVP.

Go Luka go!

lol.

Almost missed this nugget

Talking about how the Lakers “barely played Muscala”

Muscala averaged 15.6 minutes per game for the Lakers.

Know how much Zubac played for them that season?

15.6 minutes per game.

You want to take the best possible versions of these guys and project them to make the 2020 Lakers a championship team. Just isn’t the case.

How many career playoff games have Ingram and Ball won?

Expecting them to be key players in a championship team during their first playoff run is straight up delusional. They weren’t those guys.

I think Ingram is getting a bad rap here.

But he's the kind of guy who absolutely loses with the new cba

just a pure cash tax issue he gets his max deal.

He can probalby be a #3 on a title team and #2 scorer when your 2 is a draymond or gobert type with a lot of defensive value.

I'm really curious what Toronto is doing, they're going to be watchable but a lot of whole is less than the sum of its parts up there.

He is a good player.

My point being, if he were as good as being claimed here, teams would not be hesitant to pay him.
