For what? jack shit has been proven so far
At this point he been found guilt, the court case rest with, were procedures correct. NFLPA claim that Goodell had to be the one to hand down the penalty and a third party should have handled arbitration. We shall see how that goes.

That is the way it should be. You obviously never played the game.

Letting fans call in to tattle on players is absurd, no matter how you try to present it. And what does that have to do with me playing the game?

No, just pointing out that this is how the PGA guards their players.

You should stick to your racist BS in the PF and stop pretending to know what the PGA is doing. If Tiger Woods was 100% white instead of 30% white you would have never brought him up (or defended him) in the first place.

Run along fella, this is out of your league.

..."protect the NFL brand"

With every passing season, Roger Godell's command feels more and more like he's the head of the NCAA, instead of the NFL. Maybe take a few lessons from Tim Finchem's leadership of the PGA Tour and actually guard your players; FYI Roger just like the on the PGA Tour , players are the brand.

You think if Josh Gordon was an up and coming superstar on the PGA he would be suspended for smoking weed? How about if Tom Brady who was already a PGA megastar was found to be using under compressed golf balls? Uh, no they wouldn't be.

"Perception is reality" Roger. And the perception you are giving players of the NFL is a direct result of your incompetence to "protect the brand".

Yes, Brady would be suspended if he was a golfer and was found to be purposefully and knowingly using illegally doctored equipment en route to a Major Title in golf and then denied it and didn't cooperate in the PGAs investigation...

Thanks for enlightening us with what officials do. Here's what Roger does on top of what officials do on game day.

Seriously, this has gotten way out of hand...stop the madness!

Let me try again. The court case is not about whether or not Brady is guilty. It's about did the NFL follow the CBA when handing down this suspension.

Basically the NFLPA is claiming Goodell couldn't be the arbitrator.

Much better. The CBA must allow Goodell to be the arbitrator or he is a complete idiot for doing it. From the start it was a stupid idea IMO.

So if that is their entire case, the best they can hope for is another appeal with a different arbitrator.

I think this needs to go to court and settled by a judge, otherwise this issue will just come up again.

It's already there. Now how this judge handles it, is a different story. Looking like he doesn't want to hear the case and will force the two sides to come to an agreement.

You can't force that you can only order them to talk. Goodell isn't changing his stance unless Brady admits wrongdoing and Brady isn't going to do that. I don't see much coming of the "talks"

Not sure the judge can force that, just encourage it. This really needs to settled once and for all. So I'm hoping no coming to a agreement in this case.

Judges, and in particular Fed judges, can be very persuasive, and this judge has shown signs he intends to force a deal.

The two sides will be given a chance, then the judge will in legal terms inform which side he intends to rule against and give them one last chance to deal. At that point it's up to the presumed losing side if they want to come to terms with the other side, or allow the ruling against them and take it to appeal.

Mmmm you sound like your rooting for a agreement. Quiet a 180 for you IMO. I'm hoping for this to go to court and get settled once and for all.

Not in the least. I think Brady should go down standing on the hill on this one. I was simply laying out what it looks like to me is taking place.

Sweet, we are actually in agreement. Who thought that would ever happen.

If you recall, I always said the appeal was simply a stepping stone to the Fed level. Now the fact it's in this court I didn't see coming, and was a clever move by the NFL, though I suspect it's because they know their case is weak in just about any district in the county.

My gut feeling is the judge is leaning on the NFLPA side, but it's hard to say at this point.
