Said it before - long before - this young man, MC, needs time in the minors to develop.

Love his approach. But he's over-matched on the MLB stage IMO. Let him go down, play quality games in RF/CF without the bright lights plus facing the best pitchers on Mother Earth. Besides, his power stroke needs work too.

I have followed baseball for a long long time. I have never, never seen the extent of injuries that this team has faced this year. Not any team in any sport that I can recall!

I'm going for a .500 season at this point. We pull that off, and that's a victory at this point. Get everybody healthy for next year. I feel bad for Beltre, he doesnt have that many years left...

I just heard the news tha Fielder will be out for the year. Depressing, but Moreland is hitting better and his defense is an upgrade from Fielder. I dont know, I guess i always see the bright side of things. We did score 9 runs without Prince today so......

Well, neither are desirable, but a discectomy is preferred to a fusion. As I mentioned earlier a fusion creates hypomobility at the fusion site, and that's bad in the neck for a pull hitter, but not as bad as in Harrison's case. The real problem with the fusion is the long term effects. It's creates instability at the levels around it and that's a problem 3-4 years down the road. And since we own prince for the next six years, that's a problem.

Discectomy has a better long term prognosis, especially in the cervical region. With proper strengthening and an outstanding surgeon he could be back to normal for the foreseeable future. But when it comes to spine surgery, nothing is certain




On a side note, here is an interesting study on the rehab potential of major league pitchers who receive fusion surgery. It's more optimistic than I expected. Maybe there's hope for Harry after all.
