So is this saying that in theory the Flyers can trade Danny Briere with a cap hit of $3.25mil? (50% of 6.5)

well Im all better now after this email from the Canucks :yell:

Dear Matt,

It’s with great excitement and enthusiasm that we share in the announcement that the NHL and NHLPA have agreed to the framework of a new collective bargaining agreement. We understand there is still work to be completed on the agreement but on behalf of our entire organization we’d like to extend our sincere thanks for your loyalty and support. We look forward to communicating further information to you as it becomes available.

Alain Vigneault and his coaching staff have worked hard to prepare for the season including planning for challenges that a reduced schedule may bring. Our players have continued with a professional approach to training and we expect them to report in optimal condition. Our goal is to compete for the Stanley Cup and we will make every effort to attain it.

Thank you again for your ongoing support of the Vancouver Canucks. Enjoy the upcoming season!

Sincerely,

Michael D. Gillis

i'm not sure if fehr pissing off the owners is going to be a win in the long run. I can only hope that both bettman and fehr are gone by the time the next round of cba talks begin

I'm pretty sure Don Fehr won't be around for the next CBA. As far as his brother Steve Fehr is concerned, who knows.

Bettman better not be around for the next CBA, but is Daly any better?

This ^. I've now seen the Canucks and the Sabres letters to their STH's.....not one apology yet (hell, not even a "we understand your frustration)". I'm willing to bet that all 30 letters to the respective STH's lack any sort of apology. Unreal, but sadly, not unexpected. I still love hockey, so I'll watch on TV, but I will not go to a game (unless given a free ticket.....even then, I will buy no drinks/food) and I will purchase zero jerseys, shirts, hats etc. for the next 3 years/season (I guess 2.5 to be more accurate).

Pens ownership group sent out an apology.
To our Penguins Fans and Community:

We offer our apology. There is nothing we can say to explain or excuse what has happened over the past four months.

However, now that the NHL is back, we want to assure you that the Pittsburgh Penguins will do everything we can to regain your trust and show how much we value your amazing support.

The sounds of skates churning across the ice and pucks banging against the glass are returning to CONSOL Energy Center. That means a healthy Sidney Crosby is about to rejoin NHL MVP Evgeni Malkin, first-team All-Star James Neal, Marc-Andre Fleury, Kris Letang, Brooks Orpik and others as we begin our quest to bring the Stanley Cup back to Pittsburgh.

We want to thank you for your patience and your loyalty to the Penguins. We hope to repay it many times over. Our commitment to winning the Stanley Cup and our commitment to you has not changed.

We look forward to seeing you at CONSOL Energy Center.
