Thanks, Innermind.
I would like to say goodbye to Bojangles, ESPN3, the Carolina bias and the ACC as a whole.

I can just imagine the Rutgers/tOSU game will be hard fought.

The B10 just added a D3 team to the league. Lambs to the slaughter.

Hey B1G,

There's still time to take BC, too.

No joke the last several years L'ville's sports programs have been on a nice run.

I need a new ACC team to root for....

I officially sent my last check to Maryland.
I didn't even go to school there, but I adopted it as a secondary team.

I am all in for the new ACC. Maryland is dead to me.

I wonder if Syracuse hadn't jumped to the ACC would they have gotten the B1G bid instead of Rutgers? I'm thinking they would and it would have been the better choice.

In all the realignment is Rutgers the biggest winner? Hard to argue otherwise.

Remember when L'ville was pissed about the Big 12 taking WV now they are in the ACC less money but much better geographic fit. Who got the better deal? Right now I'm thinking WV just from a money perspective at this point.

I'd say Utah is the biggest realignment winner. Going from the Mtn. West to the Pac 12 is a bigger upgrade IMO.

Good point. The Pac doesn't have many opportunities for expansion unless they are willing to lower their academic standards at this point. Expansion into the central time zone would be a great thing for them but unless they can poach from the Big 12 (and I don't believe they can at this point) there aren't really any viable options for them.

Holy Crap that west division is horrible

This is why I have been saying on these boards that in five years, the B1G west is going to be the Big 12 North. A joke. Three teams from the old Big 12 North left the Big 12 for several reasons. 2014 is year one, 2018 is year five.

All the recruiting is in the east. The marquis games are in the east. The population is in the east. The B1G emphasis is in the east to remain relevant. Having Michigan and Michigan State in the west was the best move before, now the west has been completely shunted off.

I have already shown the huge population gap between the west and the east, something like West 40 million east 60 million. And that is being generous with including Illinois in the West. Take out the 12 million in Illinois and the west is now down to 28 million.

For those that say Illinois is talent rich, when was the last time Illinois was dominant? relevant? a team you feared? Northwestern? Their academics pretty much exclude all the Chicago athletes and east St Louis athletes. Purdue is just about spitting distance from the border of Illinois, do they have awesome teams?

Nebraska should have no excuse to not win the West every year.

Syracuse? No, not AAU. Yeah, I know Nebraska isn't either but Nebraska was at the time and Nebraska still affiliated with the University of Nebraska Medical center in Omaha, even though it has its own charter so it is not included for the AAU qualifications. Syracuse's medical was sold to SUNY in 1950, and then pretty much turned over to SUNY in 2010 or so.

West Virginia is all alone on an island. West Virginia is already complaining about their travel problems. West Virginia is getting more money, but they might have made a deal with the devil because the devil doesn't really care about their problems.

This is what was said of the Big 12. Wisconsin and Iowa will have a say.

I agree that the B1G HAD to expand east because there is ZERO population west of the Missouri river that would have enhanced the B1G.

Granted you could say, Just Win baby, but sometimes conference politics comes into play in a conference.

But the B1G loaded the east side. Which is exactly why the B1G broke Michigan and Ohio State apart in the first place. But, Michigan was realizing that without being in the same division as Ohio State it was costing them. So, Michigan and Michigan State lobbied to be back in with Ohio State and they got their wish.

The West will have to do its best, but I am sticking with the forecast of 2018, people begin to mock the B1G west. It has already started with JohnDyer stating the obvious.
