I was trying to put a bright spot on this, SpoilsportI wouldnt say it was a fun season. The defense we saw growth over the season, we saw growth on the Oline over the season. Our offense wasnt very good. Watching our QB throw Pick after pick this season was PAINFUL!
2024 21.6 PPG
2023 21.4 PPG
2022 23.9 PPG ( Genos first 6-7 games were at MVP level, after that it was about the same level we have seen the past two years )
Wilson's last 4 years.
2021 23.2 PPG ( Waldrons first year )
2020 28.7 PPG
2019 25.3 PPG
2018 26.8 PPG
I want to see JSN get like 200 yards in the game against the Rams lol. Pass DK for best single season record for yards by a WR.
Need a better QB to run Grubb's offense. Geno didn't execute well inside the RZ.Well,
I don't think Geno is horrible but end of day we're not going anywhere with him... so IMO take a QB with a mid round pick (hope it pans out) and march him and Howell out there next year and try to build the team. It's very similar to what Seattle did with Wilson. And I know getting a guy like Wilson is a long shot, but go that route.
I don't understand the point in extending Geno or keeping Grubb around. You have some young talented players.
As for the coaching, let Grubb go. That was an Aaron Curry level bust move (yah I know I loved Curry at the time, I thought he'd be a superstar woof). The OL will still be terrible next year unless we hit on an OL which Schneider hasn't proven to do with IOL... I don't want to say blow it up, but grab a QB next year, cut Geno, let the younger QBs do something, and if you happen to tank (not saying to tank) you have a decent 2026 class to fire Schneider and move on.

He's never going to give Grubb any credit, nor second season chance to build that offense. It's just like those that hated Bevell even during their super bowl seasons. That level of hate defies logic and reason.Need a better QB to run Grubb's offense. Geno didn't execute well inside the RZ.
Grubb had a good amount of head scratching calls but a lot of calls got blown up cause our o-line couldn't hold, or Geno taking horrible sacks dropping the offense into longer yardage plays or Geno and his RZ poor decisions. He's never going to give Grubb any credit, nor second season chance to build that offense. I trust Macdonald to know if Grubb is a problem or not.
I wish I had faith in our GM and scouts to find and acquire the talent we keep coming up short on.
Good luck in the playoffsLove you guys.
Love you guys.
I dont think the Oline will be horrible next year. I say they will be in the 15-18 range which is a oline you can win with. If they go out and get a couple starters I think they could be in the upper limit of that ( 15th ) or better. If they just pick up more castoffs for pennies on the dollar they could be back in that sub 20's once again.
Comes down to Geno's INT's. Sorry but his INT's costed us at least 2 games this season just off the top of my head and there could be more but this season looks way different at 11-5 than 9-7. That Giants loss is the one that hurts the most. The OT loss to the Rams also STINKS! The INT to seal the loss to the Vikings stings also.
Very much a story of "what could have been" with just a SLIGHTLY better QB.
this is an offensive league, its FAR easier to hire a vet DC than it is a vet OC. if the OC is any good, he will be a head coach.Geno had some issues this season, but it was certainly not all his fault. The D looked like garbage for the first half the season (and that's fine, Mike needs some time), our free agents were all busts, the OL was one of the worst in the NFL... some interceptions were NOT Genos fault (even JSN dropped one that resulted in an INT against the Rams if I recall correctly), special teams was a disaster at times and would've cost us the Jets game if it wasn't the Jets and an even semi-competent team...
And then Grubb... that was the biggest mistake. A young head coach and you give him a rookie offensive coordinator with no NFL experience who wasn't even calling the plays at UW. How that one happened blows my mind. And I was hopeful. I don't remember anyone here HATING that Grubb pick, but in hindsight I think we were all kind of "Well let's hope for the best." lol. Should've just paid Ben Johnson more money than Detroit. Allen of all people can afford it.
McVay was an offensive guru and a young guy, what does he do? Goes and gets Wade Phillips to run the D where he can literally not think about it until he builds up his HC acumen.
Whatever.

Maybe hiring a defensive HC isnt the best idea in current nflAgreed... but in hindsight it really showed that we rolled the dice BIG time with an OC with no NFL experience who wasn't even playcalling in NCAA.
