It was a good year although we didn't make the playoffs although if we were to not make it at least we finished with a record in which we can justify that we should have made it. I wish we can do like baseball and play an extra game to break the tie but that wouldn't be feasible.

Overall I give Mike Macdonald a solid B+ he basically took PC team and did a game better than him and finally beating the 49ers this year which was impossible ever since Russell Wilson left. I do JS and MM will continue to find their QB and players as much as Geno has been an awesome veteran we are not exactly going anywhere with him. I would like for us to somehow draft a QB and play behind Geno but we will see what happens. It seems like the franchise is in capable hands and we are not trending backwards.

Changes needed, OC gone, Geno most likely gone … Time to take more steps forward
What makes you say Geno is most likely gone? This is different than whether you want him or here or not. How is it going to happen? Cut him? Trade him? He retires? What you want to happen and what is most likely to happen are not the same.

Not sure Geno is going. Likely the Seahawks rework his contract to ease his cap hit, so they can seek a QB of the future while having some insurance. To bad this draft class is so poor at QB and doesn't appear to have a good candidate for QB of the future. Means the Seahawks will be in a "must have" at QB for 2026. The alternative is to sign some FA at QB and try to sell him as the QB of the future and Howell was a example of this tactic. I really hope they don't go this route as it's just a ban-aid and sort of a con job to ease the pressure from fans of needing a franchise QB. Drafting a QB in 2025 is another version of trying to sell shoddy goods as "the answer" at QB.

Geno will be starting next year
Metcalf will get an extension
Lockett might get extended
A bunch of guys will get cut including noah fant
Round 1 pick will be one of the two TEs
Round 2 pick will be a LB
They will sign 85 year old kevin zeitler to play LG and the OL will otherwise be the same
8 or 9 wins and the big discussion will be whether to fire schneider or not and the usual folks will say no because who out there would be better?

Geno will be starting next year Probably
Metcalf will get an extension Good chance that happens, reducing his cap hit may be more valuable then what he brings in a trade
Lockett might get extended Maybe but only if his cap hit is cheap
A bunch of guys will get cut including noah fant Sure, cut out some fat
Round 1 pick will be one of the two TEs I only see one as a possibility and hoping that's not the case but BPA in this poor class.
Round 2 pick will be a LB Maybe but I think it will be round 3 or later
They will sign 85 year old kevin zeitler to play LG and the OL will otherwise be the same Not Zeitler but they will sign two IOL and some better then usual choices out there
8 or 9 wins and the big discussion will be whether to fire schneider or not and the usual folks will say no because who out there would be better?
Schneider job hangs on improving the roster, particularly the OL. If the OL becomes functional and the defense becomes more consistent, he'll be given another year to find the QBOTF.

Red zone play, and coach Macdonald is BIG on good red-zone offense … I think they cut him, or try and trade him.. But he’s gone, I would bet big money on that …

I think TE is a likely pick if fant is gone, and there are two consensus first rounders which will be hard to pass on for schneider.
Zeitler is a guy they apparently really like and almost signed him a few years back. He fits the MO of signing old retreads on the OL.

Don't doubt Macdonald looks forward to moving on from Geno, but not if that means going with a bigger risk at QB. Doubt he a fan of starting a rookie QB this year, doubt he's on board to paying big money to Darnold, maybe he could be talked into Fields but probably not, RW nah, Howell oh hell no.

That could happen, but my gut say’s coach Macdonald is moving forward, Geno just makes too many mistakes and it’s a win now league … I heard they might try and trade for JJ McCarthy, just a rumor, but the Viking look to have their starter now with Sam Darnold… I think Seattle either drafts or brings in a young QB prospect … Geno is gone, just my opinion..

Keeping Geno pretty much guarantees us we won't be drafting in the top 5 to 7 range to get that QBoF.

I think there's a couple of QBs mid round this draft that could pan out.

Most likely, but from JS and Macdonald point of view they do not want to earn a early draft slot because that means they may become unemployed, same as any GM/HC. Any move made is made to avoid being fired. Also having that early pick is not a guarantee to land QBoF it's a gamble, look at the top of the draft this year:

All three need a QB badly but if they take one, they'll end up regretting it. Must feel like deja vu for these teams. I prefer the Seahawks wait for a good QB class to chase that QB of the future. When the next good QB class happens move up and damn the cost.

Titans would be wise to take whatever they can in a trade down, heavily weighted to 2026 draft picks.

I'd much rather go OL or DL or even EDGE than TE.

OLINE:
Abe Lucas may not ever return to form. So RT could be a need. The OT class is also fairly weak and as a result a lot of those guys could shift inside to guard (course that's what a lot of analysts are projecting) which surprise, is also a major need.

DLINE:
Williams is 31, Reed will be 32.5, and Hankins will be almost 33.5 - and Hankins is not as good as he once was. Those guys will start to slow down and be less effective as they age unless you give them more rest. I know we took Murphy, but you're going to need more than just him and the younger guys (Morris/Young) can't get on the field and haven't shown anything anyway. Roy Robertson will also be likely gone next year (he's nowhere worth nearly $7M and he's a $0 dead cap hit) as he'll be 32.5 and was insignificant. Lastly, Jones is sure to be cut.

So you've got Williams/Reed/Murphy (who also had injury problems) and literally nobody else behind them. And Reed/Williams are going to need MORE rest and someone who can pair with Murphy as we build a new DL once Reed declines which could be any moment.

EDGE:
Really depends what happens with Nwosu, but Hall/Mafe can't play every snap. You gotta rotate some edge guys and when Nwosu couldn't see the field you could really see Mafe/Hall slow down as the season went on. And who we were rotating in just wasn't cutting it. Jones will also be in all likelihood gone so unless Nwosu finally gets healthy, that's another issue.

ALL of these positions are more important than a TE and IMO they are just as big if not a bigger need. There is no rare Bowers type TE (or anything even close) in this draft. And even him, a generational TE talent went 13. As for linebacker, I agree there is a need there, but the ILB class this year is pretty weak.

Now someone could say: "Shark, the OL/DL/EDGE class is weak as hell too." Yes... like the TE (not quite ILB, that's far worse), but these are positions of FAR more value than an ILB or TE at this point. Mike's strength is ILB... let's see what he can do with some mid round picks before we throw a ton of high draft capital there. Seattle needs to fix trenches first.

AND, QB - if John/Mike and TBD OC really like a guy, you have to be prepared to pull the trigger which is prob. another 1st-3rd rounder.

IMO this is the PERFECT draft to trade down. There's not a lot of early round talent, but the middle rounds are fairly decent. Lot of good depth there and prob. not future ALL PROS, but certainly a viable starter that can help elevate stars you have.

I would basically never take a TE in round 1 im saying what i expect them to do.
I would take the second DT from michigan if he is there or OL.

Don't they play in a 4-3 defense? Not true nose tackles, which I believe you think the Seahawks lack.
