Anything short of winning a playoff game should mean schneider gets fired. mediocrity and status quo is as unacceptable as a collapse in my opinion.

Don't they play in a 4-3 defense? Not true nose tackles, which I believe you think the Seahawks lack.
he played both is my understanding, but mazi smith went round 1 last year as a noze and kenneth grant is identical in size.

So what your saying is he isn’t a true run plugging nose tackle but more a typical DT that plays the 4-3 but you want him anyhow because you just can’t have to many DT on your roster IYO. If the Seahawks draft a DT lets that be a true nose tackle later in the draft to replace Haskins.

We are SO THICK at DT and DE we got good players not getting much playing time. Why put even more on the plate? Dont forget also that we have the 2nd most money tied up in that group. Whats number one you say? WR's lol yeah.

Lets try and pick JS mind for the draft lets see.
If i used JS mind we pick a RB in the 1st that the talking heads say would have been there in the 3rd. We pick a IOL in the 2nd that everyone says "Who" They take a 170 pound 5 foot 8 WR in the 3rd that was projected to go in the 5th or 6th. See what im doing here? lol

Our needs in no order.
IOL, OT, LB, CB, S, QB.
then depending on DK and Lockett situation WR.

Yes i got CB on there and Safety. Bryant did well but will he resign? Always need depth at the CB position as a lot of our guys are on 1 year deals ( 3 are FA ).

then again we do have Reed and Hankins as FA on the DL so maybe they do grab a big body but i bet its in FA.

Do some research on him, he is a stud and would take our run defense over the top. 339lbs is what we need in the middle and he has some pass rush ability too.
But sure wait til later and get, or what we will probably do is overlook it entirely and go into next year with a huge hole in the defense yet again

Watch the first play, he chases a RB down from behind.

You really love DTs man, every year you want the first pick to be a DT.

Ive been pretty open about the fact id only take OL DL or QB in round one. Build inside out.
WR, RB, LB and DBs should all be had later.

Red zone play, and coach Macdonald is BIG on good red-zone offense … I think they cut him, or try and trade him.. But he’s gone, I would bet big money on that …
I just can't see them taking the risk of dumping Geno unless things go south at the bargaining table for an extension. We aren't in cap hell, so he's not gonna but released for that reason. Even if we make a blockbuster trade to go get Cam Ward, I bet Geno is here as the starter in 2025. Save your money.

Well Robertson is prob. gone, that's $7M. Dremont is gone, that's big money - prob. a post June release.

LBer is fairly weak this draft (ILB) but we need another for depth. I and most agree we need a OT/IOL/QB, and I still think another DL/EDGE.

Your rant about RB in the 1st, IOL in the 2nd who we say "WHO?" and 170 lb 5 foot 8 in the 3rd had me chuckling pretty hard, but you're WRONG! We're taking a 3rd round TE in the first! Jesus Screamin... get it right!

Yeah, but I think he’s gone, why pay big money for an aging QB who might help you be around .500 ball.. ? Geno’s gone, watch … I’m investing in Geno’s gone stock ! Macdonald knows he’s not getting anywhere with Geno…

Because .500 may allow you to have a chance at keeping your job, while going with a cheaper QB on the FA market who performs worse gets you fired and there isn't a single rookie QB that is starter ready. I'm not a Geno fan, never was, but I think with a contract adjustment he's going to be the choice to start in 2025. Now if he's unwilling to sign a team friendly redo of his contract then that's a different story. This is the corner JS has painted himself into.

That’s true .. You never want to tank it because you could get fired… From that standpoint I can understand … What’s Geno’s cap hit if we let him just play out his contract ? Isn’t it like 45-50 million cap hit ? That sucks when you consider he threw 15 INT’s to 21 TD’s …

To be on the Seahawks, Geno is going to have to work with JS to lower his cap hit by a bunch. Otherwise he'll be cut.

~.500 4 years in a row should not mean you keep your job.
That's why Pete was fired, this year Grubb got fired, next year if they are .500 someone likely gets fired.

Then why stick with geno? If schneider gets fired after another 500 year then they need to make big moves at QB

They will trade the 18th pick in the 1st for the 32 pick and get a 7th round pick, we always get lower value in pick trades than any other team thanks JS. They will pick Cam Skattebo and flop him to tight end lol you happy now? :D lol

Because there isn’t a better choice thus they will try improving at other positions this year ( especially OL) then make a move at QB next season. Change at QB has no benefit for the Seahawks staff this year.

Geno will not be on the current deal if he's the starter in 2025, which I will bet he is. You gotta take into consideration the chronology of how the off-season goes. Free agency happens well before the draft, and the NFLPA will never let it be the other way around. We simply are not going to kick Geno to the curb and essentially go into the draft without any kind of experienced QB, and we are not going to gulp down Geno's dead cap hit just to turn around and pay even more $ for a quality veteran. It's not happening.

"Big money" is very subjective, and I think they'll get an extension done that makes Geno's 2025 cap hit no more than 12% of the cap, maybe less. If you cut him before the 2025 roster bonus kicks in, it's a dead cap hit of $13.5M. If he plays out the current deal (not happening), it's a cap hit of $44M because of those $6M in escalators that will be included in the roster bonus for next year. A 12% cap hit is probably going to be around $33M for 2025, and I suspect they can get under that. That makes him probably middle of the pack for QB cap cost, and that's not a bad deal at all when you have no clue what the alternative might be but pretty sure it would be a downgrade unless you REALLY want to spend "big money" on a QB. And even then, you might lose the bidding war.

Always easy to recommend risky courses of action when someone else will be held accountable. Macdonald isn't going to make some big gamble at the most important position. It's just not what NFL teams do. Even if we make some huge trade in the draft and get Cam Ward, you can have him watch for a year or 2 and be just fine cap-wise.
