I don't care.

50,000 military vets will never get to visit the White House but we give automatic visits to people who are champions at playing with their balls.

As far as I am concerned, Betts can make this about himself if he wants to. Everyone else on the damned planet does, including the moron who originated this thread.

I think his name is Markus.

From his wiki page:

M
arkus Lynn "Mookie" Betts

Betts' parents chose his name in part to form the initials MLB, matching those of Major League Baseball. He has attributed his nickname Mookie to his parents watching former NBA guard Mookie Blaylock play basketball shortly after Betts was born. Betts has stated that he has never met Blaylock.

If a player doesn't want to go the White House that is his right.

I agreed, IMO, these "visits" are done all wrong. Presidents should hold any open house for the players and their families, if they want to come fine, if not fine. Life goes on...

That sounds great, but some presidents get offended if one player doesn't show up (or all of them in The Warriors case).

Actually, I don't think that any president up until the current one have been thin-skinned enough to even comment on someone snubbing them. Because it's only happened about 10-15 times before 2016.

Take the political crap elsewhere.
Going to the White House and seeing Trump is political no matter how you look at it. Mookie by saying what he said, didn't want to get political. Mookie doesn't want to go to the White House AND THAT IS HIS RIGHT!!!!

Gonna be tough to have that meet n great for awhile. For Mookie Betts, Pearl Jam, or anyone else. Think he's in prison.
