If kap can't cut it, it isn't due to a lack of effort or intelligence. Greg Cosell discussed this on KNBR this morning and I tend to believe him. Kap's issue would be processing information quickly on the field. Cosell stated NFL QB's have to be able to scan the field and make quick decisions about how to run a play. If you are slow or hesitant, you aren't going to be able to survive in the NFL

Comparing Kap to Luck is just weird, I'm not even sure where that is coming from. B/c they both have bad Olines?

Luck hasn't shown a year+ of complete ineptitude and confusion. Kap has, and is getting worse by the game.

Man, you should have heard all these ex QBs and current GMs on KNBR this morning just tearing kaepernick a new one. Not one of them said Kaepernick had a chance to be successful in the NFL. Most were saying that if its true that he is a hard worker and works at his craft then the 49ers are in real trouble because that means he cannot get it no matter how hard he works at it..

Unfortunately yes. LAST year was his "last chance" to show improvement, but even after factoring in the O-line, lack of an elite WR, and play calling, we already know he'll never get it.

This year I didn't expect him to get it, was just hoping for more of his better games than bad games. Kaep HAS good games, just that it is getting fewer and farther between. That said, it isn't easy to obtain a good QB.

Unfortunately, these adjectives describe kaepernick perfectly. Did you hear what the Cardinals DBs had to say? They said they could see almost immediately where Kaepernick had made up his mind to throw and his long windup and hesitation made it child's play to get in front and make the pick. They weren't cutting Kaepernick any slack especially Mathieu.

I didn't hear those comments. I read Mathieu's comments about the 49ers play calling being predictable. Cosell was asked about that this morning on KNBR and downplayed the comments. Cosell claimed it was player bravado and stated the same comments could be made about 3/4 of teams out there.

Sorry, but that is absolute bullshit. For him to say something like that is absurd. Probably knew who his audience was on KNBR.

I hear a lot of legitimate complaints on this thread. Well, what did the Bronco fans do to get Tebow to play? Whatever it is, let's get Gabbert out there. We'll either have some success or have something else to whine about.

yes, DB's can't read individual pass plays, this is the NFL. They have to play their scheme, play their man.

But they do study patterns, weaknesses, and strengths, so during a game they'll lean on this knowledge. If they know Kaep throws outside poorly, they'll lean inside coverage. If they know he can't throw down the middle in the red zone, they'll lean outside protection.

It can always get worse and if you start Gabbert.....you're going to end up with a top 2-3 pick.

i would start Gabbert when Coaches sense enough players lose faith in Kaep. There is no exact way to know this, and hence no exact right time. All they can do is sense it in the locker room.

i would play Gabbert during a game, if Kaep gets another two poorly thrown INT's.

Attack Green Bay's weakness.....run Hyde till the wheels fall off (and Kaep 6-8 times). The Packers are vulnerable against the run.

Totally agree. If there's a pattern of interception machine in the making, let Gabbert play.

Thanks for the support. Raiders are a few miles away and always televised. Your team is looking good.

I'm just giving advice.....I think GB wins, 31-17.....

Thanks. Here in Long Beach......I never see them. I wasn't aware Cleveland is too close to LB for me to see them. :gaah:

Pisses me off, it's early.......but we're looking looking good and should be 3-1 (Clausen sucks balls, despite them staying close to Seattle for a little while) heading into the showdown vs Denver.

no doubt in my mind they will try to establish the run. knowing what we know to date, do we have a choice?

I'm not so sure. Kaepernick has had his biggest games against GB because they are dumb enough to play Man coverage against him. This does two things. It frees Kaepernick from having to read defenses which he struggles mightily with and it turns the backs of the DBs who are in coverage and they don't see him as he's taking off to run until its too late.

You might have the Raiders down in LA in the near future. It looks like a possibility the Raiders will be moving in a few years. A stadium deal in Oakland doesn't look likely at this point.

LOL, that level of offensive game planning is well beyond my knowledge of football so I wouldn't know.
