I think it's the first perfect month - any calendar month. The ones ahead of them only had 2 or 3 more wins, so most likely they straddled two months.

If only there was some sort of universal fact-searching device that could satisfy this argument.

Yeah, but they didn't play all the games on the schedule; there were a couple of major snow storms that season and a bunch of games were cancelled and rescheduled. So they have an asterisk by that record, as they officially won 17 in a row, just not 17 in a row on their season schedule.
