I loved the Pace hire from the get-go...

But that was the one first round pick in my entire Bears fandom where I didn't just have mixed feelings. I legitimately repeated "WTF?" in my head all week long. We were in the middle of a total strip down. We hadn't even reached the "rebuild" phase. That was the kind of cap hell limbo we were stuck in. Then, we start the Pace era off with a WR? Jesus. That was bad. But damn... I love just about everything since.

It's actually wild how useless he's been in the NFL. I mean, jeez.

I wish Pace was as good at picking first round talent and even second round talent as brilliant as he is at picking mid/late round talent. Who wouldn't take Wims over White?

Edit: His R. Smith pick tho is looking solid.

DK Metcalf reminds me of Kevin White. A receiver who killed it in the combine and was all over ESPN but didn't workout in the NFL. I see years from now DK will be in the same spot you cant fall for these players after killing the combine at the end of the day

It sucks that he was a bust.

I don't see much in the argument about certain positions in certain rounds so long as the player ends up being good. (Obviously K/P in early rounds is an eye-opening type moment, so there are exceptions). If you're good, I don't give a sh*t which round you came from. Bring it on. WR or otherwise.

Now is the part where I become a hypocrite and laugh at the Lions picking Tight Ends in the first round...because #Lolions.
