Feels like Pace doesn't deserve all the blame for White. At the end of the day, it goes down as a pick that didn't return any talent, but how could Pace know that he'd hurt 3 years in a row after having no real injury red flags. There's no telling if KW would've turned out to anything special anyway but still.

I agree with the general idea behind this. However, the fact still remains, given the state that team was in? Taking a WR made absolutely no sense. Especially a project like White, who ran a miniscule route tree in college. We were stuck in cap hell. We had begun stripping down, but couldn't even really rebuild yet. Due to the fact we were still locked into a multitude of big contracts from the mess Emery left us with. 2015 and 2016 was like some hellish limbo period. We were clearly a few years away from any hopes of contending. The times called for a safe pick. We entered into a total crapshoot.

You probably felt the same way about taking Montgomery since we had the great Jordan Howard and all.
