Being a Wisconsin backer myself it is fun watching the Badgers take them to the woodshed on a yearly basis though.

The poll wasn't about whether Nebraska is a current top 10 program or best team of the decade. Blue blood status doesn't go away because of some rough seasons. They'll always be considered one of the historical greats because of their overall body of work, especially early on, and nothing will change that.

Another telling data point of blue blood-ed-ness is that people expect them to be better and get better based on nothing other than the fact that they are Nebraska. When (and it's when, not if) they get good again, nobody will be expecting their coach to get hired away after two 11-win seasons like with stepping stone schools. That doesn't happen to Nebraska. It wouldn't make sense to treat them that way.

HuskerOC still eats pizza with a fork though. I compliment his beloved program and nothing in return. :pout:

Why are you bringing up Michigan? Or asking me what their record was? (Id have no idea tbh. Saw more Huskers games last year. All ugly. But I'm pretty certain they had a winning record last year. Most decent programs did.)

This is a thread about Nebraska and the poor state of its program. Let's try to focus and come up with a gameplan to stop the bleeding.

We have.

Just like you have with crazy man Harbaugh.

And that bumbling Hoke before the guy you really hated in Rodriguez who lost to an FCS team, and Lloyd Carr who was lucky (at least you all thought), and then the guy Moeller who really stunk it up after Bo who never won a Natty.

We have a 2-1 record against you clowns in conference play.

Really?

You said you have passed us as a program. Nationally.

In this millennium, Nebraska is 137-71 while Oklahoma State is 125-76. Let us keep in mind, this is the worst 16 year run in our history over the past 60 years, while this is arguably the greatest run in Oklahoma State football history. Ever. Including the Thurman Thomas/Barry Sanders/Leslie O'Neal/Mike Gundy/Hart Lee Dykes years that were surrounded by years of failure.

And yes, we did beat you the last time we played you. In your own house in 2010. 51-41 with Arm Punt Martinez throwing for 323 yards and 5 TDs against your swiss cheese defense. And yes, that was an 11-2 Oklahoma State team that is likely one of the Top 5 teams your program has ever fielded all of a year away from your greatest team of all time in 2011.

As for corn jokes?

Stillwater, OK population: 45,688
Lincoln, NE population: 258,379

Stillwater is nothing more than a pimple on the ass of the way out-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-skirts between Tulsa and Oklahoma City.

Even your big brother calls you the cow college. And you want to make stereotypical corn jokes? You can shoot a cannon down main street in Stillwater right now and not hit anything of note. Yes, you have a street called Main Street in Stillwater.

Now, as to whether we are still a Blue Blood?

Since joining the Big 10 we are 6-2 against the other considered Blue Blood programs in the Big 10 that consist of Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. We also have a 3-2 record against Michigan State and do not have a losing record to any opponent in the Big 10 other than the 1-4 embarrassment that has been our pathetic play against Wisconsin.
Damn it man. :D Get it right. They're the sheep humpers. We also would have accepted "Rudolph Humpers", after this past year.

Fork and KNIFE bitch.

For fuck's sake, do you even know how to eat pizza?

Sorry, but just 4 hours away from my Eggs Benedict, fresh squeezed Grapefruit and morning blowjob.

They're still a blue blood, but I wouldn't be surprised if that fades more and more as the years go by. They're stuck in the BIG west, recruits have no clue that they used to be good, and they can't take partial qualifiers anymore.

The last 15 years Oklahoma State and Nebraska are basically equal programs.

Win %:
Okie St - 64.2%
Nebraska - 64.8%

Conference Championships:
Okie St - 1
Nebraska - 0

BCS/NY 6 Bowls:
Okie St - 2
Nebraska - 1

To answer the OP, I do think they still are a blue blood, but being in the B1G West will do them no favors.

Sent this to my die hard Nebraska fan cousin today. He either didn't find it as near as amusing as I did, or he's still fapping.

Good old family ribbing. Not much better.

I'm taking full advantage of the opportunity to get under my Baylor brother-in-law's skin right now. He's not taking it very well.

Nebraska's blue blood status has temporarily been suspended.
It's like their man card has been taken away until they prove otherwise.

I'll go ahead and throw this out there...if fans of teams that haven't played a team in 5 years are starting threads asking about their blue blood status, said team is still a blue blood. Irrelevant teams are simply forgotten.

No, the Huskers are not a blue blood program. I love Nebraska and wish we played them every year. I had two pennants in my room when I was growing up: an OU pennant and a Nebraska pennant. I have attended watch parties with Nebraska fans when OU wasn't playing that day. Nebraska has the best fans in college football. And they did have the best teams ever in college football in the 90's but that was a long, long time ago. I put Nebraska in the same category as teams like Michigan and Miami. They are good programs but not in the elite 6-8 teams all time.
